Description​

right clicking the character portrait to arrange a marriage between courtiers receives a year long cooldown upon confirmation for some reason. the find spouse function does not, and you can still select one of your courtiers as the second spouse in the pairing, making it effectively the exact same interaction with added busywork

Steps to reproduce​

start a game, right click your guy, arrange a marriage between two courtiers, and then try to do the same a second time. alternatively, load up the save attached where ive already done that and right click murchad - hover over arrange marriage and it should say something to the effect of "you cannot use this interaction on you until [date]"

I also noticed this. I presume that they added a cooldown for the AI proposing marriages and it unintentionally applies when you "propose marriages" to yourself.

Big issue for me. Breeding dynasty, 1483 living members, 1149 courtiers. 2 years passed since patch came out = about 10 betrothals stuck, includes not-close family.
Additional note: problem does not occur between courtier and non-courtier, i.e, can arrange/conclude marriage starting from non-courtiers.

Edit: as mentioned in another thread, workaround by breaking betrothal and use "Find Spouse" and searching for the name - "Arrange Marriage" still won't work and you do get the opinion penalties from breaking betrs

As the author noted above, there is a big problem with a large number of people in court. please do something about it

This is incredibly annoying, as playing the game as a dating sim for my courtiers is one of my favourite elements!

It’s happening for betrothals too. Betroth one of your courtiers to another one who’s not yet 16. Year long cool down. Then, instead of automatically marrying when the younger one comes of age, or asking your permission to convert the betrothal to a marriage, the player has to manually check and click to arrange the marriage - cue: a SECOND year long cool-down. For the same couple
