Just a suggestion, it would be great if peasant levies and samurais come from a different manpower pool; so there is a balance between few samurai and many ashigaru troops

I hope PI does not implement something like Shogun Total War's "all elite samurai" armies or even worst, the "hero system";
as per wiki:
"A Hero System has been announced, whereupon each faction shall have a Hero that can sway the tide of battle, and are supposedly almost unstoppable (...) hero units are a nearly unstoppable force on the battlefield, capable of holding bridge crossings against entire armies, or smashing through a battle line to engage the enemy general"

Armies won't be all samurai and there will be a development from smaller samurai armies to larger ashigaru during the games time frame.
I'm not familiar with the hero system in tw, but we won't have special hero units or such. Each army will be led by a general though and a good general can win a battle against a superior force.

I will accept nothing less than armies fully made of lightsaber-wielding samurais :mad:

Good to hear there are no "heros". This is neither a martial arts game nor Star Wars Empire at War ;).

But as far as a comparison to TW is not too heretic they might have had some good ideas.

experience for ninjas would be great. Also if there are more missions other than assassination for them (like recon, sabotage, smear, incite revolts, etc)

that being said, I hope they do not overdue the ninja concept, in other words, this should complement other aspects of the game, but not break the game balance.

Well it looks like you hire ninja CLANS not individual ninjas...I think?

the ninja missions being the typical, kill tgt /destroy improvement?

something like "just wreak havoc" among your enemy (x% chance of either; stability drop/random improvement destroy/bad $ event etc ) would be nice, I mean... some leaders would probably have no qualms about asking for another human beings death. Other leaders while they would not go so far, I am sure they would not deny the benefit of having such a group causing headaches to his rival leader.

One of the pics showed a ninja clan protecting you from attack.
