After some weeks I am already concered about how to continue with the assets. There is a wild mix of different styles on the workshop. I have seen already some nice japanese residentials, us-american fast-food chains,...

My concern is that I want to have a lot of different mods (assets) but I don't want to see all of them plopping up in my city. I am currently working on an mid-european medieval house. Well actually it's a mix-use townbuilding.

So my suggestion would be to introduce style groups. They could work with the district feature. You simply set which styles are allowed in that district.
As I am no modder (coding stuff) I can only little imagine how to do that. But I think there are 2 major problems with that:
  1. setting a style tag is not trouble-free and a complex change.
  2. it would require people to download a mod allowing this feature, which would be another dependency, which is ... bad
I hope you understand my point. Tell me what you think about that :)

Building I am currently working on:
