Hi,

I just wanted to know: are the ahead of time dates for techs in agceep the same as in vanilla? Or have they been changed?

I'm currently playing as Venice and am ultra-hyper-teching (just to give a name to giving all your provinces away, converting to reformed and trading the hell out of every cot on the planet :cool: ), so it's rather important for me to use the correct dates :).

Only infra and trade have been slightly changed. The expected date for infra 4 has been moved 25 years back, and the date for trade 4 moved 15 years back. This means that the ATD for level 6 of infra is 1550 rather than 1525, and trade 6 is 1545 rather than 1530. I believe those are the only changes.

Thanks! So you mean from level 4 on every date has been shifted back?

No, the dates after level 4 are the same (and you could just check infra.csv and trade.csv to see for yourself ;) ).

Yes, I looked in those files but they said the atd for level 9 is 1850 and for level 10 is 9999. I thought there must be something wrong.

So then I compared the atd's from the vanilla files with those in the economy faq, and they didn't match. Which led me to conclude that the information in the csv files must be about something else. But I guess the faq dates are outdated then.

Damn, 9999? The costs must be enormous for that tech. However I almost always get it by 1750 or something. 8249 years ahead of time, who would have guessed?

No, the FAQ is up-to-date, although it doesn't do a particularly good job of explaining where the dates are from. What it's saying is that the ATD for a tech is the given year for the tech two before it, minus 10. So when the CSV file says
Code:
2;1450;30;
, you get an ATD for level 4 of 1440--just like the FAQ says.

One consequence of this is that the last two years in the file never affect the ATP. They affect the cost, but since there is no tech 11 or 12, you never get a penalty based on the year 1850 or 9999.

Ah! Now I finally understand! Thank you very much!
