Playing DAIM as Japan, it is late '46. Bitter Peace fired in '43, annexed USA and Canada in '45, Britain in '46 (didn't annex, just took the island). Since no much is left, I want to start the war with the Axis, though I'm afraid I don't have sufficient forces. If I attack in spring of '47, my troops would look more or less like this:
Inf: 110 (with Art)
Mot: 26 (with SP Art)
Mech: 20 (with SP Art)
Arm: 20 (with SP Art)
Mar: 13 (with SP Art)
Mtn: 12
HQ: 4 (with SP Art)
Cav: 6 (with SP Art)
That is a bit more than 200 divisions (plus 24 Ftr and 36 Tac). I would also have tech advantage (my Ftr, Inf, Mot and Mec would be one step ahead). However, I'm afraid this isn't enough (and German divisions have 30org more than mine). If I wait until '48, I would get more than 300 additional manpower, which is another 30+ divisions. Also, with the IC I have, I could disband a good part of my Inf and produce more Mec instead. I am also thinking about disbanding all the SP Art brigades and replacing them with Art (which I could do if I wait until '48) since the last Japanese land doctrine adds +20% org and morale to all divisions brigaded with Art. Personally, I'd say that -1 speed is worth the bonus, because then I'd have only 10org less, while my morale would be more than twice as high. But I would lose the tech advantage. So... what do I do? Any more tips?

Hit Fortress Europe with more problems than the AI can handle. I played one campaign as USA where Germany did not go to war with USSR so Europe was a tough nut to crack. I landed in Italy first, north of Rome (Florence perhaps?) where the peninsula is a two province front. After the Germans stopped me cold (actually pounded me back from the Alps) I landed in Athens and had an enclave. Then when Germany started hammering me there I landed south of Denmark and everything broke loose. Admittedly this was with considerably greater forces (240 INF/ART, 36 ARM/SPA, 24 MAR/SPA but I had a lot of forces in the Far East).

You will need 48 INF under some good defensive leaders to hold your Italian Front and enough TACs to keep German front lines close to 0% infrastructure. Use your MTN divs in Greece and a bunch more INF, and all your mobile units and everything you have left for the North German Plain.

Edit: Oh and stage your Mobile forces in UK so you can get them onto your beachhead FAST.

Hope this helps. Good luck! :)
