Looking at Huzics Faq, I'm still fairly confused on attrition. When looking at a province, it has a number either in red, yellow or green meaning the weight that can be supported for that province, correct? Does that value factor in all the modifiers in the Faq table?

Here is an example, I am going to attack a plains province owned and controlled by the enemy with a force of 50k troops. The value of the province is 25. Reading the Faq table, do I make the following calculation to figure out my attrition? My leader has a movement of 3 and my land tech is 7.

Unit weight: 50
Province supply: 25 (from the province screen)
Supply modifier: 40% (from the Supply column of the Faq)
Leader modifier: 6 (from Leader column 2 * M)
Max Attrition: 9 (from Max Attrit column 10 - 7/5)

So, modified supply = 10 (I'm guessing here: 25 * .4) + 6 = 16?
Attrition = 50 - 16 = 34?
Max Attrition = 50 * 0.09 = 5?

So my attrition for the month would be 5 weight of troops?

Colors in attrition

I'll let BiB or other greats handle the guts of the attrition numbers, as I've never understood them.

However, the colors reflect whether you are in your owned province (green), an enemy-owned province in supply (yellow), or an enemy-owned province out of supply (red).

Why make it so hard ? If it says 25 supply and u have a 3 leader, enter with 31K troops :D Then when entered look at the attrition. Hover ur mouse over it. If possible send it more troops if u want.

PReferably stay clear of unsupplied, red, and winter provinces.

I didn't know that. Since (for obvious reasons) the red numbers are lower than the yellow ones which in turn are lower than the green ones, I never paid attention to the colour, assuming it merely indicated that a province had a low/medium/high supply.

Thank you.

U don't need all that number crunching
a totaly agree.
if you try to figure out every little number in a game you will go nuts

That is why I was asking, I was not sure after reading the Faq if the value seen in the province map actually factored everything or not (like the 40% reduction).

The reduction is already factored in in the value u will see ingame.

The % value is there out of completeness for those interesed in the game mechanics and also to allow you to understand what supply limits your allies and enemies get from the same province during different conditions.

As for the caluculation relevant to you, BiB already covered it. It's all there is to it =)
