attrition - how do you fight with it

How do you fight attrition in troops?
Any advice or strategy?

the less you move your troops the less attrition you get

optimize your movements, choosing, not the shortest path, but looking to supply limit of provinces too

Keep the H*LL out of enemy territory during the winter (+25% attrition)!!

Good army commander is also helpfull (the higher his mouvment rating, the less attrition army suffer)
