Another theory:

Bamberg has seven hills. It was a bishopric in the HRE. The HRE had three bishops as prince electors. In total the HRE had seven prince electors and was divided in three parts (Germany, Burgundy and Italy). It's a HRE game!

I like the idea that they're going to base a whole new game on one of the weakest aspects of PDS design.

I am wondering why are the Paradox even bothering to create threads like these...

Bad joke of a hint (outright dev trolling), no real info, no real purpose since there is no info, and the thread always devolves into people posting their delusional fantasies of highly, highly unlikely games.

It's fun for some people. Not so for others. Those who like it can enjoy it, those who don't can ignore it. Thus, it's a net positive.

But. But. FUN!

Fun, as in the willingness to tease people into smashing their keyboards and plead to the devs to be given a chance to buy their games? Or !!FUN!! as in Dwarf Fortress? :p

Never played Dwarf Fortress.:p

Never played Dwarf Fortress.:p

Well then, the former option, then.

Dwarf Fortress has a learning and playing curve that puts the hardest games in the world to shame, and detonates the brains of anyone who tries. But then it is one of the best overall games ever made. :D

That's a surprisingly good one. As Sinologist, I would totally be all over that game :D

Same here. Having researched on Chinese history for so long, from Xia to Qing and more, I would be extremely excited for such a game too. There has been a long time since a good game about China came out. :D

I didn't read the whole chain (or the other ones) so sorry if someone already suggested this but:

@ Paradox Can you please also make a discussion where the first post lists ALL of the hints in one place so that I don't have to collect them individually every time? Please?

Actually you don't even need to do that. They are not presenting real hints anyway, just jokes.

3's & 7's - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"3s & 7s" is the second single by Queens of the Stone Age from their 2007 album Era Vulgaris. It was released on June 4, 2007 and followed the digital ...

Stone Age game confirmed.

er..

1 Corinthians 3:7New Living Translation (NLT)
7 It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.

Farming game confirmed.

Seven & Three are classed as lucky numbers in Chinese culture. Three is significant since there are three important stages in a man’s life (birth, marriage and death. Seven is a lucky number for relationships. It is also recognized as the luckiest number in the West, and is one of the rare numbers that is great in both Chinese and many Western cultures.

Could this point to a simulation game of some sort set in China or the West. It adds "For example, three and seven together in Cantonese emphasizes that you not only are able to grow, but you can also grow out of any situation you might be trying to have" A game full of characterisation, building, & conquering (growing perhaps). An ancient civilisation game.

We can only hope.

3 and 7 are also favourable numbers in Hinduism, but that doesn't mean they'll create a game based on India itself.

All they said was that 3 and 7 are important, not that it is in any way related to the game theme!

So does anyone at Paradox have a birthday on 3/7 or 7/3? Have two children aged 3 and 7? Is there someone who has worked on Paradox games for 3 years and 7 months? Or have they been working on Project Augustus for 3 years and 7 months? Or it won't be released for another 3 years and 7 months?
