Game to be played in the Spirit of a 2v2

Germany+Japan V UK+USSR

The 5th player will go to USA if they are available and the 6th to Italy.

Seeing as we will be working around 2 rosters (SE + Mike, and Rastius needing time off with the missus, im going to suggest this is a ONE night a week game). IF we fit moer sessions in so be it. If we dont then im sure we will all get over it. (for now, we will see what happens before dedicating 2 nights permanantly)

RULES:

1. Semi Historical game. All rule discussion must take place prior to a new game commencing and must be approved by all players in the group.

Diplomacy and war entry guidelines

2. No war until Danzig unless via an event. ie. Japan and China.

3. No allying of minors prior to Danzig.

4. Base USA & USSR war entry is 1st January 1942.

5. Any unhistorical DOW's or Alliances will result in USA and USSR increasing or decreasing there base war entry by 6 months.

6. Italy may ally Germany after Eithopia is annexed with the following restrictions:
a)No German, Axis Allies or Italian air, Ground or ships may be in each other countries until they are at Major war.

b)Once in the German alliance Italy may not leave prior to Major war.

7. Base Japanese War entry Date January 1st 1941, however should USA refuse to trade min 20 of each resource for 20 Supplies the Japanese may attack earlier unless agreement reached on another trade.

8. Neither Russia nor Japan may DOW each other until 1st January 1943. should Japan select to attack russia at khalkin Ghol the war must be finished in a time frame befitting a border skirmish. (3 months).

9. Russia must accept the Historical Molotov - Ribbontrop pact if offered and NAP must be honoured. If historical M/R pact is offered then Germany MAY NOT DOW Russia before 1st of January 1941. Extended NAP's are to be negotiated between the German and USSR player at their discretion.

10. Trading of military units:
a) USA is permitted to supply UK with escort fleets if Gibralter Falls.
b) A human controlled France must not trade away any military units.
c) Military sales between nations are prohibited until both nations are at war.
d) Starting units may be sold except for Capital Naval Units (USA, Japan).

11. No one may influence a Human controlled country without their permission.

12. No one may attempt to kill any ministers or leaders from a country they are not at war with.

13. Supply Exploits:
a) No Expeditioning of forces to Minors to save Supplys.
b) A capital may not be diliberately surrounded for the purpose of preventing supplies and convoys from being sent from such a province.
c) If a capital is left vacant it must be occupied immediately. The agressor will play fair. Any major dramas should be brought to everyones attention

14. Trading of resources, provinces & blueprints with other countries:
a) Any resource may be traded with any other country.
b) The Allies may not trade for rares in the first month of the game. They may accept any trade offered.
c) No restrictions on trading blueprints with Allies or stealing them.
d) No one may trade provinces for the purpose of preventing Annexation of a country.
e) Provinces may be bought and sold freely from and country. And in some instances can be edited.

15. Military access:
a) No one is permitted to allow military access to foreign troops unless they are at war with a common enemy.
b) The USA does receive military access to the UK through events but this may not be used until the USA is at war with Germany.
c) If you manage to gain Military access to a neutral minor your forces may pass though but may not launch attacks from such a country.

16. Surrounded armies may not be disbanded when totally surrounded to save manpower.

17. Air units that have been given a rebase command and keep retreating back to a base about to be captured must be permitted to leave such a province. To keep engaging them to prevent such a rebasing mission is not in the spirit of the game. The damage done to such units is more then enough penalty.

18. Province improvements:
a) USA may not build coastal forts until China Falls.
b) No other country may build forts past level 5; exceptions are Gibraltar and Malta.
c) All airbases and Naval bases must be built in the province and not placed from build queue.

19. No country may change its starting land doctrine.

20. All games to be played until a group vote decides otherwise. A tie means the game will continue. Players must abide by the vote if they wish to continue playing in the Aussie group.

21. No SR from province that is adjacent enemy units not in retreat.

22. Maximum city stacking limited of 36. If forced by retreat and totally surrounded opponent may vacant a province so the stacking limit can be corrected.

Rule 24. -GM (Game Master) to be elected by the players before the game commences. (preferably host?), The GM is expected to be fair and no biased in all rulings. (though 1.3 eliminates alot of bugs). GM will decide the outcome of bugs/edits grievences etc etc..

My Pref in no paricular order.

1.USSR.
2.Naty Spain.
3.Co-op.

We have like 9+ players so we will have to try and balance the teams for a good fight.

We should try to fill prefernces for those who missed the last game and also the 4 majors from the last game who (both sides Axis and Allies) were robbed of a conclusion to the game.

Our rules worked exceptionally well last time leaving room for many nations not usually played, if it were not for the crashy save bug from host changes wed have had a very dramatic game with alot of not always seen twists.

Though an exception will be made to the spirit of 2v2, the Core 4 should be the first nations seated and selected. We should try to fill preferences but also maintain a good balance.

Well I think it was pretty much made clear to me Im Germany and yous want to try and beat me up. :) So Germany it is.

Cya at 7pm which is 4pm my time. If we dont get all our players here who would normaly play no harm in delaying a few days or a week if needed.

I agree to those amended rules you sugest G.

If we do end up with 9 players then its not going to be even so I sugest this.

If we have a human france then there needs to be a human naty spain to keep it balanced. As a human France and UK can be very tough to stop early. I would even sugest a human hungry or romania as well as france is a major power and spain is a minor so two axis minors would equal france.

Same situation if you have Brazil then you need naty spain.

A few changes in 1.3 that will affect our french player. Upon vichy even (If I can get it :) ) all french units are deleted from the map. This is to stop exploits like in 1.2 where the allies often got a large french fleet or moved amoured divisions and other expenisve units so they would become british. So now free france only gets a few divisions and more comes as the game goes on. Vinchy also only gets some naval units as part of the vinchy event.

Good to see they fixed the leader problem when you create a puppet. No more having to give a puppeted china leaders.

Ampib assults can no only be done via the mission option not just point and right click and they are also harder now. Not so easy to get ashore. Also all ships need to be undamaged and at full org to be able to launch the invasion from what ive read or perhaps set the mission org levels lower.

Ampib assults can also be canceled, horray hopefully no more of those bugs with retreating to transports.

Bought units now upgrade.

CVLs now longer bring CAG fleets into firing range all the time, they still do but its based on commanders, tech level, docs and weather

Subs are alittle more effective.

Damm can only upgrade naval attachments while ships in port.

In play testing the game it seems to run faster and smoother then 1.2 or any version befor it.

Since patching to 1.3 my changes to the misc file I hade made no longer take effect in game.

Eg. I have changed the max air stack to 8, but in game it is still stuck on 4. Same when I try and change the major general air stack limit to 8 it remains at 4. It seem changes I make to misc do not take effect in game.

Anyone else got this issue.

Did you change the right entry? Geo is working it seems. Ill go do mine now, I think you might of changed the wrong entry. I think you might of edited the command limit and not the stack limit.

This is what it says in my misc file but it still does not let me combine more then 4 air units. Is this the right one? If not do a copy and paste and show me the right one.
 
Ok got it now, Geo sent me the file. For what ever reason Vista would not copy the or save the file right even though it showed it as being edited.

So now the checksum is VBJN is this what others have?

Jdog said he is happy to sub as well as he can't make the long nights, but is interested.
 
Ok got it now, Geo sent me the file. For what ever reason Vista would not copy the or save the file right even though it showed it as being edited.

I think VBJN is still the original? checksum.

Try deleting the fle alltogether, then pasting in the one geo sent you perhaps? I know the guys have also had trouble with vista and the misc file.
