My Uncle lives in California and he's coming on the 8th, with a fresh copy in his hands :D - FOR FREE (for me anyway).

We played on til early Jan 43 this session.

In Europe, things seem well balanced still with Germany making some ground, and apparently pocketing some Soviet forces. The USA made its presence felt by destroying 5 german air, and 6 inf in the Azores. Whilst it had not been a servicable base for the Axis for some time, the USA still was able to utilise it to launch attacks on German controlled Morocco. Landing a mixed mechanised and infantry force, the US army pushed back German forces and reached the med, pocketing 7 german inf divisions in Ceuta. 4 german fighters were also destroyed in air battles to no US losses.

In the Pacific, the Japanese forces managed to cause some damage to US air units and naval units. The US however tightened the grip on 20 Japanese divisions in the Phillipenes, and even killed off a couple of divisions in its blockade.

Minimishatora was likewise occupied, and US forces siezed other islands including coastal Phillipenes ones, the remainder of West Papua, Ambon, Timor, the Celebes, Bali, etc. Japanese naval forces sortied, and caused some damage to US convoys, but US naval air sunk large amounts of the Japanese fleet, particularly Japanese transports and a mixed BB/CV fleet.

With the withdrawel of large parts of the US military from the Pacific, Japan will no doubt fight on slightly longer, but Germany now feels the might of the USA, with larger forces still poised to wreck havoc in the rear of the Reich which is bogged down in Russia.

The German war machine ground on this session, achieveing more success then apticapted.

German panzers smashed into kiev and defeated two stacks of 24 divisions in a long battle with constant air support. Germany massed it forces in Kiev for the eventual counter by the soviets. Knowing 24 divisions would not be enough to hold, hitler ordered all forces there to hold there ground, total numer exceeded 50 divisions. The battle went well, with soviet forces beaten back with huge losses, only moderate damage to German panzers. A second attack was also beaten back with huge losses for the Soviets, these battles supprised the germans as attacks from muliple directions with large numbers has worked in the past. German tech is slighlty better then the USSR, and with massed Tanks proved to much for the AT of the Soviet infantry.

German forces continued to take a few provinces across the major river line and constantly beat the Soviet forces. With the advent of winter Germany decided it was best to consoilidate its gains, reorganise its forces for a summer offensive.

In the Air the Soivets did manage to kill a number of German fighters, 5 i think when the retreat bug happened. In normal combat soviet fghters retreat every time engaged by there German counterparts. SU fighters only come out to fight german bombers groups which are always escorted and even they are an even match for Soviet fighters. The best the USSR can hope for is to delay the enevitable of German air supperioity. Soon the USSR will be forced to fight to the death or move its fighters so far back they will be of little use. If Germany can gain ground in the air this war might be a good long tough one.

Yeah, CORE HOI air combat = sh*t

No such thing as Russia overwhelming German fighters in the air with numbers, it's a really crippling doctrine that shortened pilot training.

Germany must protest at this warlike and aggressive behaviour of the Western Allies. In a democratic vote, the people of luxemburg voted to unite with Germany. France and Britain will pay dearly for this reckless act.

Although Germanies Armies are not yet at full strength, Hitler got wind of the allied plans and deployed his forces early. No french or Allied army will set foot on German soil. There is only one direction for Germany to strike, France. Poland is remaining out of the war so far, but forces are deployed to counter any aggresive moves by poland. Chezoslavakia has not fully joined Germany it will be interesting to see if they fully unit with the mighty German people. Forces are also deployed there incase they decide to join the allied cause.

Now Germany stands in the middle of many enemies, there is only one course of action, Total war. Germany in her ordained might will strike out at those who wish to do her harm, nothing will stand in our way. Europe will be united under German leadership, but it may be a long struggle.

Heil Hitler
What Horseshit!

You forgot about the PA, they don't play every day of their lives but once a week is fine with me ;)

Hahaha. Thats why your talking to major and munster trying to worm your way back in. Once a week is not enough for you, and you know it.

Yeah I'm working on a once per week strategy to get back in......

*to the guy that posted that old AAR, now you know what drove me insane ;)

An update on last nights session.

In Europe, the USA, covered by a growing airforce, smashed all Axis resistance in Morocco/Algeria. The Vichy fleet, together with the remaining German fleet of 2 CA's sortied to evac some units successfully. The fleet itself however was wiped out, leaving no Axis European fleet of any nation left intact. This provides the Allies with complete freedom of movement at sea without even a need of escorts.

In the Pacific, the US weathered a series of attacks by Japanese forces in the Phillipenes. Several landings were made, 1 successfully, but US air cover enabled all areas to be recaptured, and enabled the destruction of around 25 - 30 land divisions, mainly 20 pocketed near Manilla.

In Indonesia, Borneo and Java were recaptured, leaving only Sumatra in Japanese hands. In a series of naval battles off Borneo, and west of the Phillipenes, the IJN sortied several times and was destroyed as an effective fighting force by US air units. At sessions end, US army units were poised to invade Taiwan, and mop up the remaining Pacific Japanese island possessions in the Marianas. From this, a successfuly invasion of Japan itself seemed likely within 3 months.

Sadly however, Germany, whilst pressing on in the east, fought a series of battles with the mighty red army which gutted its manpower reserves. With no respite in sight from Red Army attacks, and with the Anglo-American forces driving hard towards Italy, the Axis forces surrendered, vowing that once time had passed and they had licked their wounds (When HOI2 comes out :) ) the battle would be joined again...
