Hitolf - you would be welcome. Our USA player won't be able to make it, and, as discussed on msn, it'd be great to have you on board.
Another good session tonight.
A good speed, and we are now poised for some exciting action as we saved in Jan 39. I am interested in the high level of US war entry - no doubt thanks to my annexation of the 2 chinas, and how this will affect the game.
Next session is 7pm eastern tommorrow (Friday).
Last point to make is to say Kudo's to horse - I think he deserves an honourary Aussie citizenship for his early morning rises.

WAR IN EUROPE
THe German military war machine swung into action on Sep 1st 1939. Responding to polish border guards throwing sticks and stones across the border. The 24 German panzer divisons corssed the border supported by 36 infantry, 12 fighter and 12 div bombers. Polish resistance was crushed in 12 days.
Germany and the USSR divided poland up in the MR pact, and secretly the rest of Europe. Germany quickly swung it forces to the west front to make a quick strike against france befor the allies could orgainse theselves. The plan worked brillantly.
German Panzers armies spearhead by Rommel smashed the belgum defences and pushed into sedan breaching the french frontier. German armour pushed on supported by the luftwaffe. Soon Paris was surrounded and 24 Panzers divs smahed into it defences to take the city. 1 week later france surrendered and a vinchy puppet state was installed.
The Netherlands and denmark were next on Germanies list. They soon joined the Third Reich. Luxemburg gave in to German demmands. Now Germany stands ready to for its final battle in Western Europe, The battle of britain. The only thing stopping Germany now from complete victory is the english channel.

With China and Indo-China now also enjoying the prosperity and peace of being part of the glorious Japanese empire the pacific is only threatened by the remains of the rapacious imperialist empires of the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the ever encroaching United States.
*cough* So anyway, a good session tonight, played through until early Jan 5. So far, nothing out of the Ordinary with the Germans swifly allying with, or overunning continental Europe, whilst Italy took Yugoslavia, and has boldly struck into Greece in the new year.

On the other side of the world I have some concerns with the ease at which AI France and China falls. No challenge for Germans or the Japs. Perhaps some tech sharing next time so France is more than a 2 week operation.
UK is preparing for sealion in haste and has noticed many german Subs at a high Tech level. Perhaps at the expense of other doctrines. I would like to invite Adolf over to Buckingham Palace for a cup of tea if he has the balls.
Uk was hit with 10 % dissent after a scandal in Parliment and Alliance with Poland. Severly disrupting production at a crucial stage.
Overall the game seems fairly one sided and only an exceptional performance from the SU can save the situation. The USa has been trying to play catch up with the damage the AI has done to his Tech development. Hope he catches up fast.

The German war machine continued to pound the Allies. Germany dispatched its submarine forces to the open seas to destroy the UK merchant fleet. Fleet after fleet of tranports were destroyed, bringing UK resource trades to it knees.
Germany invaded norway to secure cruical bases to use against the UK in any upcomming invasion.
In an amazing event the Queen of England visited Berlin for a cup of tea at the Reichstag. The Queen begged Hitler not to invade, so she may preserve her comfortable life. Hitler agreed as long as she spent the night in Hitlers bed. So the Queen got something to take back to the UK, A future king of england, only it would be Hitlers heir. So Hitler would have the UK one way or the other.
Italy joined the war as Germanies allie. Hitler dispatched a number of troops and tanks to help his italian brothers. A submarine fleet was also dispatched to med to help gain control there. All of the middle east is now under Italian control, except few provinces in egypt and iraq. Can the Uk hold out, only time will tell.

Not a long session in terms of game time played, but it looks as though the UK has delayed, but perhaps not halted, the Italians advance in Egypt.
The peace loving people of Japan meanwhile have done little, other than watch the alarming growth of the red army with some concern.
For tommorrows session I expect more slow paced action, and this time I'll be sure to be on my own pc.
German propganda machine at work again. The Queen hasnt left Buckinghame palace and had a recent visitor named Rudolf Hess who dropped in unexpectedly.
German super subs have help to wipe out 2 Med fleets and German panzers were beaten back at Suez. Not much the UK can do against the might of the German army followed up by the hopeless Italians.
The UK lack of Air support has made it easy for the Axis in the Med. A german Africa courtesy of the French has done me no favours either.
Unfortunately my 2 Allies must sit back and watch while I am double teamed trying to defend the Motherland and the Med. I suspect the Italians will have super subs also courtesy of their German Allies. I have lost over 500 transports and many escorts in trying to defend the supply lines. 15 escort losses in some attacks.
Had to disband all the Australian transports and send to convoy duty some Uk transports after Italian Paratroopers blocked the Canal.
Sneak attacks behind my lines on my allies have gone unnoticed
till too late. Even Greece was annexed before I even new they were under attack!!
The Uk requests shipments of supplies and resources from the USA to the homeland to starve off the Nazi threat and to assist in keeping the Factories going.

Couple of Questions
How is it that Germany got all of Vichy Colonies as their own territory? I fear that germanys ability just to build troops anywhere in Africa at will gives me no chance at all at defending any part of Africa. In one day the germans can deploy any amount of troops etc in anyone of those provinces.

I have to amdmit i have not seen this happen befor. But then again i have not played much in 1.5c. It could be some bug or a random chance of happening, maybe the quick voctory over fracne had an effect on it. In other words i dont really know.
I cannot deploy forces directly into north afrcia i have to transport them there, same as vinchy france i have to move forces there cannot directly deploy to say lillie or cherburg. So you dont have to worry about that. All you really need to worry about is building some cheap destroyers and lots of them, researching imporved destroyeds and some good naval air, to go sub hunting.
The allies didnt gain control of the Atlantic from german subs until 1942 or 1943 and even then there were uboats campigns that were very succesful against the allies. So if you would up your forces and then when the USA comes in, the balance of power will shift in the atlantic. Or at leas my subs will face a tuff battle.
Escourts do work, my subs took a good pounding from your escourts. Its just to bad you didnt have at least 10 escourts in each convoy. Then my subs would have to been back in for repair after one week out to sea.
With naval air, that would only be effective where i have no fighter coverage, as you would lose your whole stack of bombers if intercept. You need to use them from cairres or isalnds in the atlantic.
Despite what the UK government reports, trying to hid the truth. The Queen not only spent one night in Hitlers bed but asked to stay a whole week, after experincing Hitlers skills in the bedroom. I think soon there could be a weding on our hands.

Suez has fallen, and all of Africa almost up to South Africa, including parts of the east of the Belgian Congo have fallen into Italian hands. Malta and Gibralter however, remain defiant.
Recent information has come to light showing massive soviet tank deployments. Along with the already impressive infantry forces of the red army, if these are modern tank designs, then Germany may perhaps be made to pay for it's hefty investment in U-boats. Time shall tell, as all the world begins to turn it's eyes from Africa to the east.
Japan meanwhile has continued on it's path of peace. It's small army has been busy folding origami, and it's navy has been decommissioned to make childrens play equipment. The tiny Japanese airforce has been doing little other than dropping presents by parachute on remote villages in the now peaceful and happy Chinese countryside...

Germany made no territorial gains in this session. Most of the action was in Africa and involving the UK and italy. Only action Germany saw was in the Atlantic sinking convoy after convoy. Uk sent one fleet of destroyers to hunt down my subs, but they were beaten easily losing 7 destroyers.
Germany continues to postion it self for future operations against the imperalists. The war goes well, it seems to well.
German people believe the war is over, the economy is returning to peace time. Maybe its the lull befor the storm.

Most of the gains by Italy were made by the help of up to 30 germany divisions panzer and infantry. Also the Germans were responsible for wiping out 2 fleets with super subs. My attempt to confront a pack of 12 subs with 12 destroyers left 9 destroyers sunk and no damage to U-boats in the minimum 3 hours of fighting. Never heard of subs being that effective against destroyers no matter how good they are. They usually run and hide but in this game they got special powers.
My attempt to hold in the mountains in was a waste of time against german panzers which just rolled in thru like I wasnt there.
Just another 12 months of taking it up the arse.
I dont expect Sealion now cause he is afraid of defeat on the beaches. I think the Grmans will pay for builiding in excess of 90 sub fleets on the ground. I have elimated the Sub threat by making up masive convoys and shipping large amounts of supply and oil thru in one hit. There is safety in numbers.
