Austria-hungary IGC problem

in gc Austria and Hungary almost alwaysbecome allies.
but in IGC for some reason hungary allies with vinece, Austria with bohemia. Austria and hungary often war eachother. I know this is very unhistorical. Have this happended to someone else? If then the IGC might need to be changed.

I think the problem is that hungary and bohemia haes eacouther.

i played a hand off game now, first time Austria and hungary was allied in a IGC game, but bohemia was not in it.

I haven't played the original GC in quite a few months

so I can't speak to this directly. But as for the IGC I do agree that this love-hate-love relationship is apparent and that what you observe with A-H-B is also what I am commonly witnessing.

Maybe the diplo settings need to be changed? Also, when Venice or PL ally with Hungary, then Hungary is less likely (or not likely at all) to join with Austria. I've seen PL (diplo or dynastically) annex Hungary also. I just dynasticaly annexed Hungary as Brandenburg in the game I am playing (and it is no picniv bc Hungary has 3 different religions and this is causing me major headaches! I have gone from Banker of Europe to Religious persecutor in a matter of months. I am tempted now to abandon Hungary amd just let the rebels fight it out. So much for the Pan-German-Magyar Reich I had intended to build).

Austria and Hungary weren't always friends before their crowns were unified in 1526. Moreover, even after that unification, a good chunk of the Hungarian nobility didn't want to become part of Austria and broke away under the Prince of Transylvania. So bad relations between the two aren't ahistorical.

Austria and Hungary don't have bad relations though IIRC and apparently Bohemia and Hungary hate each other who should supposedly be under the same crown.

I can imagine that if they don't get allied wars will follow as Hungary holds core provinces of Austria.

I've only been playing the 1520.inc though lately and in that one usually I get Turkey eating large chunks of Hungary while Austria diplo annexes Bohemia. Then Austria takes the remaining provinces of Hungary which doesn't sound too bad.
