Austrian Civil War

Ok I tried playing Austria for the first time and when it got to August 1950 I got the event that makes my army revolt and i lost my entire army to rebels, but I knew about that event. Then in September, through event, Hungary declares independence, which I had never seen. So I have no army and Hungary has declared independence so then Switzerland, Ottoman Empire, Russia, and Sardinia-Peidmont declare war on me at roughly the same time. While it is most likely that im FUBAR, I need to know why Hungary declared independence through a event ive never even heard of before. WHAT DID I DO????

Are you playing VIP? It sounds suspiciously like you do. In that case everything, but the DoWs is normal. I haven't seen this behaviour in Vanilla, though.

Edit: What is your badboy? Switzerland declaring war is just plain weird.

On vanilla Hungary can declare independence if rebels hold Budapest I seem to remember.

To me it sounds like the event chain in VIP where Hungary declares independence, which means that all your earlier armies consisting of Hungarians will join this new nation and declare war, also Sardinia-Piedmonte, France and Two Sicilies will declare war on you.

All you have to do is occupy Budapest and wait for the trigger to annex Hungary once more, and keep the Italians at bay (unless you want them to form Italy)
