I played through the first levels and I like the style of the game.

The problem is for me that, once the defences are built, I spend the most time constructing the same waves again and again and send them away (while the game speed is on fast).

Is it possible to automate waves - like cycling or saving formations? It would be nice if there was an order like "send the last wave again once you have the prerequisites". Also, the word "perequisites" should be replaced by something easier in the English language.
 
Yeah Ive been wondering the same thing. Havent quite found the sweet spot on that yet. depending on how far you have played so far though I can tell you the "style" of the game seems to change pretty quickly. Around the 5th level (the Minotaur one) the mechanics of the game change from placing your 10 towers and never moving them while sending whatever groups of creeps....to a sorta forward tower pushing game with sending only specific creeps that are needed for map at that time. It is a bit weird though sometimes that this is a tower defense game and you actually spend a greater majority of your time sending creep waves. I mean the towers do get more important in later levels as you have to keep moving them forward on the map....but you almost constantly have the creature screen up. I almost wonder if it wouldnt have been better to have a permanent ui element on the bottom of screen somewhere for units...with a long term queue system similar to RTS games.

I really didnt notice the change you are saying about. I am at three kings and i am never going forward with my towers and i have not had any problems at all till this map ( maybe first mission with elves was bit different). ;p I lost one at bridge since my tactic wasnt good for that map.( I loled when i won it in 3 mins spamming swarm units all time) Now i died twice becaise when i kill purple the hero comes and killes me when he reach my base and all my full upgraded towers cant take him down .. gues i will have to change strategy to severely damage all temples and finish them almost at once. OR change my tower placement and types a bit

I played some more levels now. In the later levels you do not spawn units all the time. The experienced units are expensive, so you have to use them carefully. Also it seems, that there is no need to create "formations", because the units of your wave don't stick together anyway (it would be better if, for example, the healers would escort the vulnerable units). So mostly it's sufficient to create whole waves of a specific types by double clicking.

Some suggestions for the developers for key shortcuts:

"1": Create first unit type (without accessing the wave menu)
"1" "1": Create a whole wave of that kind (or "shift"+"1")

The first levels should be made much shorter (the enemy base should have less hit points), they give the wrong impression that this is boring and repetitive game.

This said, I really like how the complexity evolves throughout the campaign. Great game.

Have you tried to time your healers to "move with" your vulnerable units? Trying to get them to be near these units at a specific point in the map, where they may be need is really satisfying - if you manage to time it right!
