Help! I am playing my game, hastings at about 1190 and my game goes back to windows outa nowhere. If I go back and try to reload the game simply won't load. If I try to load and old save it will let me play for a while then crash again. I believe simular posts have been made before and would love to know how those people have gotten around this. Should I save my more recent save game's to disk, then reinstall and drop the saved save games in the save file, will this allow me to proceed? BTW I amd using the 1.04 patch

Lord D. Andrews:

I myself have experienced that before, and what I did to remedy that situation was use multiple save points, reverting to my earlier save if my computer should crash. But I've been witnessing an even more peculiar situation. After a great session of Crusader Kings, as I clicked the exit button, my computer would crash, displaying a BSOD saying there was an error 0000xa..., and then proceeding to restart. This was rather irking, and I decided to live with it, as I had never experience this problem before, and the only new piece of hardware was my new GeForce FX 5500 graphics card. This kept on for a while, then out of the blue, when I would try to load my save files, the BSOD would appear, rebooting my rig. Now, I can't even load a new game, because I get the same screen. I know it's a software issue, as I've played many games to experiment and none have experienced this problem. I even uninstalled the game, defrag'd the HDD and re-installed, including the 1.04a patch. I now cannot enjoy my favorite game, and am very distraught to say the least. If anyone can help me, I'd sincerely appreciate it. For the record, I am using Direct X 9 series drivers, instead of the Direct X 8 the game recommends. Could this be the source of my misery?

Wow, wish I knew , I'm not the best computer guy so i don't have a clue. I, too amd sure it is a software thing because i have had very few problems with other games. I also did a defrag, dosn't seam to help. Hopefully someone who is better with computers can help since as it stands I have a truely wonderful game.... to look at!

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
4) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.

Let's try these things first.

Is #2 somthing you do in windows? Or in the game?

Why is this silly game so unstable whenever it feels like it... I have the same problem, started playing one day and within a few minutes it started to go to windows but wouldn't crash... twice it minimized then when i tried to save the game it crashed... WHY WHY! I tried to reload and seconds after it crashed!

BTW I'm on the latest patch... sounds like birth controll... eek! Or even worse... 1.05 or 04 whatever the latest is.

1.04a or b(beta)? The beta patch gives a much better game IMHO, but tends to be more unstable(it's a beta after all...:p).

Have you done all 4 things I recommended, then start a new game?
