Venice has Done Well, I noticed JTU has learned Diplomacy. A little quiet with your trading their Uber, you could double your profits easily if you made more agreements and were a bit more hardcore...

It would Make Venice a Power to be reckoned with.

Dave is awfully quiet I think he has his eye on European Domination.


Aye, good subbing. For all those "ethics of the sub" threads, and sub-skeptics this is why it can be damn good fun sometimes (and not controversial). No buildup, no stress, just a powder-keg environment and the right kind of laid back players.

Timing is still not stellar for me, but I may be able to sub here and there if you guys can't recruit a Perm.

about rules i think we should limit this 1 but i do suggest to add 2

when you colonise any of these provs i will edit a cot in that spot after session
however there some restrictions to this :

1) you can only claim 2 cots a continent(3 in the Americas total) this including cots that exist from the start
2) the cot located in North america at the start (in native control) will be deleted as soon as 1 of the 4cots are claimed
3) if you claim 1of the provs listed above there needs to be a minimum of 10 ai controlled or colonise in the imidiate area to spawn
4) north america-south america and central americas count as 1continent and can claim a max of 3cots there
5) cots that spawn randomly will be reviewed and in many cases deleted (especially if they spawn to close to the provs listed above )

6)
-paris cot will be added in 1559(after session )
-london cot will be added in 1530(after session) if the event doesn't trigger
-flandren cot will move to holland in 1559 or whenever holland gets his event
-vienna or bohemian cot will be added in 1609 if event doesn't trigger it then for austria



this rule was used for royale entete and basicle makes sure we got reasonable historic cot spots instead of some weird cots spawning and to prevent that 1cot dominates Na or Sa ect


edit : cot rule won't do much to the game xept make sure we got reasonable cots and everybody got a easyer change to get a piece of the pie
it does require some editing each week but i don't mind doing the cot edits
 
also if possible we should do 1houre earlyer start 1houre earlyer and end this 2am-6am gametime isn't exactly best time for me

If ATE3 dont get enough players and start at tuesday, I would be able to play a game on wednesday, if you really start and end on hour earlier cause of summertime in northen hemisphery.

Then I could take Sweden, BB or Dutch :)

Sorry folks. I've had the graphics card issue, a lengthy vacation and now I'm in the midst of moving. To top it off, with the EU III beta starting in a week or two I've more or less lost interest in EU II.

The Game Scenario is fine with me and I nominate Drake for GM..... so get the new thread up so we can get the 2-3 extra players. (Yay Drake :p )

I have an idea for an easy VP method so we can make it competitive. I still have to type it up but have no time now... it is pretty simple and I'll see what you guys think.

- We're using random leaders I assume?

Hey guys. Since we're starting a new game I've come up with a Victory Point system for your perusal.
I've noticed that in the last couple of games a certain malaise has descended upon my EUing. Back in the old days I used to play full out for Victory Points and this led to active diplomacy, hefty wars, and lots of fun. I'm hoping that a proper VP system will make this game a bit more competitive and interesting again. :)

... Before I start, any other suggestions/ideas are welcome. I'm certainly not wed to this system, I just want EU to be fun again :D

I've based this VP system on the assumption that land equals power. I've kept it pretty straightforward with some VP's given for war and optional VP's. Using the last games stats this seems to work out the way I would have ranked the powers. It's also easy to figure out from the stats which is nice. I'll even volunteer to keep track of it if we use it.

As for balance, unless we play a random game the bigger powers will have obvious advantages but the smaller powers can still make up the difference using this system.

Per European City - 100vp's
Per Colonial City - 25vp's

These are calculated every turn and are not cumulative. The rest are.

Per Player War - +50vp's
Per Player War Won - +100 vp's

First Nation to the Next Trade/Infra Lvl - +100vp's
First Nation to the Next Naval/Land CRT Lvl - +100vp's

VP Provinces (Optional):

Each Session after the first, each Player places one core on a province belonging to an opposing nation. These additional cores are VP provinces. They are public knowledge.

If the province is captured by the player: +200vp's.
If it is subsequently lost in another war: -200vp's

Each session owned per VP province: +10vp's
Each session not owned per VP province: -10vp's

I did a quick calculation based on the last stats. This would be just the Base Victory points:

Austria - 5225
Spain - 4975
Russia - 4600
France - 3125
Venice - 3100
England - 2825
Brandenburg - 2225

... then you would have to add in the extra VP's which would tighten the race a bit more.

I think this could work out rather nicely. What do you guys think?
