Balanced Color Scales 1.1

The stock colors were too soft for me, so I decided to make my own, I started by changing the water and the terrain colors and then the countries, that's why Belgium looks a little pale since it shares the same color as the desert.

Installation:
Place it into your Mods\Darkest Hour Full\map\Map_1 folder.
* If you want to use the version with the pink CZE, rename the file colorscalesCZE.csv to colorcales.csv

Is it compatible for version 1.05?
I don't think they have modified the colorscales.csv so yes it should work fine.
Its beautiful
Thanks! Glad you like it
What is Japan and Asia?
Will upload some pics of Asia and Oceania later today.
The colours look fantastic, but the Czech pink is very weird. The upside is that there is no Czech state from 199 in a ww2 mod.
I agree, the pink does look weird, maybe I should make it a softer version of England's color.

Good, thank you, I'll follow the progress of the mod.

Small update... changed Poland color slightly and Syria / Indochina

At this point, I believe that the only colors left to improve are UC1 and UC4-6. Still looking to improve the water color.

Does anybody know what the first rgb color row of the water do? I'm doing some tests and it seems that the second row changes the water's color, while the third changes the borders and fonts.

Ok I think that this is the last change to the water. I'm not sure if I understand correctly which row changes what but this is what I got after tweaking the values.

Changing the last row I was able to make it look as if it had a shore, I wanted to use a more greenish colour but then other parts of the ocean were affected on the lowest zoom levels.

I love the colors in Southeast Asia! And I actually liked the pink Czechoslovakia, but oh well :)

Great work!

I'll update the OP later with the latest changes plus a version with the pink Czechoslovakia, since it looks like only Khor and me didn't like it very much.

Edit: OP updated, thinking about using Japan color for Belgium and that would be the final version, unless someone wants me to change UserColor1 and/or UserColor4-6.

alright, and inside which file? I've wanted once also to chnage the Terrain colours, but didn't find any adjustable colour Information ;)

Orange <- Clear
DarkGray <- Urban
Green <- Forest
DarkGreen <- Jungle
Yellow <- Desert
LightGreen <- Marsh
DarkOrange<-Hills
Gray <- Mountains
White <- Snow
Brown <- Mud

Just change the correspondent color in the colorscales.csv file

hey, do you may know how to define colorscales correctly?

what are all these lines meaning?
why you have 3 lines with RGB, whats the function of 'index'?

would be great of you could give a small tutorial, whatever I change, the outcome is not as I wish. I just don't get the point what I have to change e.g. For more transparency or brithgness... I guess it's something with the index, but whatever I change, the map looks after that ugly as shit :D

I don't have my files available, so I cannot give a detailed explanation. Actually I proceeded by trial and error, as rgb codes in the file do not match what appears in game. I had to make screenshots to compare in game rgb values with what was expected, and to correct in consequence until I had something close to what I wanted. I wasn't able to find a consistent ratio between the color definition and the in game result.
