Again, a difficult question. Yes, he has free will. But, as I am sure you can understand, there can be no more free will in Sophia, becouse the ultimate goal is to become one with her. (A bit of Nirvanaesque flavour here, yes).
He is not a tool, though yes, his Will preadtes his current body, but thats the whole point of it. He has a Higher Self, and has now, if only for some moments, become one with is. As he became one with it (by first destroying the phyisical obstructions, than the astral ones (the so-called sins), and lastly, the mental one, fear), he acts according to it, and it would be veeeery strange for him to reject Sophia and choose the path of Yabaloth who has shackled him down for a good part of his life, eh?
But we do, of course, not yet know how much he could bring with himself into the fleshly reality, and what the consequences of his selections are
