Normally i do encirclements along the ger-ussr border , but with daim the ussr has too many divisions to do that.
My (armoured) spearheads get counterattacked by up to 80 divisions from multiple angles and i cant encircle any enemy divisions.
I tried different build orders to counter that, like trying with a big airforce (INT,Tac,CAS) or trying with many many Tanks/Mot/Mech (last attempt was with 6 combined-arms armys of 9 each).
But against so many ussr divisions i cant do much.

How do you all do your early encirclements ?
What force compositions are you all using , where exactly are you attacking and where do you cut off enough enemy divisions to make a difference ?
First advice. Try to launce barbarossa in 1940 next time. But that isn't the case now. Second advice make your tank divisions not bigger then 3 tanks. Don't mix for that combi bonus. It's not worth because u are attacking and not defending. Third advice use troops with same speed to attack a specific province. So they arrive in same time. Fourth advice use the blitz methode (hold shift and click the destination province (my tanks go non stop to Zhlobin)

My tactic is to make big pockets and to concentrate my army forces to stick together. And keep focus on that goal. Never spread out in the beginning
This story and the army numbers are based on a 1940 invasion on the level Grofaz(HSR)/agressive with daim DD1.3a. So u can use it for your scenario in 41 with even a bigger army in numbers
I start with so 85 INF/6 ARM /12 MOT divisions in Suwalki and 24 CAS/12 fighters based at Konigsberg.
Almost the same size of army i put also in the province Zamosc with the exeptions that i use here so 24 tanks and 24 tact. Rest is almost the same.
Other german/former Polish province are defended by so 6(konigsberg/memel) or 3 divisions(the other polish)
The goal is to make the first big pocket that includes 10 provinces. The circle is closed at Zhlobin (by MOT/tanks Suwalki) and Vyshgorod (by Tanks Zamosc) Move fast with the panzers then mot and then the INF.U use the INF to the defend the first conquered provinces like Grodno ect.
Because the ORG level is low for Russians troops in the beginning i order allmost all bombers (CAS/TACT) to ground attack. After i closed the pocket i use the TACT to interdiction the regio brest-litovsk and the rest of the pocket to get the ORG even faster to zero. The CAS is doing ground attack to destroy moving troops who wants to escape the onslaught in the pocket. At the same time start moving some INF troops (don't use your MOT/tank for it) into the pocket to destroy the troops.
U should already have make planes for your 30 tanks which are standing in Zhlobin/Vyshgorod to make u second big pocket. Tip: the pocket is behind Kiev to the south (rich resources provinces)
Third pocket and the biggest one is to capture moscow and close the pocket by Molotovsk. And it is almost bye bye red army.
