Hey guys,

I'm having a bit of trouble against Soviet Union as Germany and was wondering if you could help at all. Basically I've already avoided falling in to the trap of the two front war by not antagonizing Britain and France, but I need some help exploiting by breakthrough in the South.

Here's my current situation:

Should I try to push on the Stalingrad immediately and then behind the Urals to capture the USSR's industrial heartland?

I haven't played Barbarossa before, but my strategy for defeating the USSR is a pincer movement, i.e. advance to the north and the south of a broad front, and try to completely surround a large area containing a large number of troops. It helps if you have armour and motorized units to do this. Once they are out of supply, the units trapped in the areas lose their effectiveness rapidly, and then they are pretty easy to wipe out.

I always try and push through central Russia and pincer North or South depending on what I perceive to be weaker. Use either Motorized Infantry or Armour to help you quickly encircle troops. Also if you are struggling to defeat there army build up a large air force with CAS and Tac bombers and basically destroy their industrial base.
