A week ago I was discussing in this Steam forum thread:

A piece of information was discussed that I hadn't considered before; the Weight of the Medium Airframe series.

For Small and Large Airframes, the base Weight of the airframe itself increases by a consistent amount across the levels. The Medium Airframes however don't follow this trend, with the Interwar and Basic models having the same Weight (8), that then drastically spikes to 12 for the Improved model.

For simplicity I've drawn up this table:
Airframes (Type and Year)SmallMediumLarge
Interwar3.08.016.0
Basic4.08.018.0
Improved5.012.020.0
Advanced6.014.022.0
Modern6.016.024.0

The easiest explanation is it's a mistake; the value not being properly adjusted for the Basic Medium Airframe from 8 to 10 during development.
Is it possible this is an intentional choice? If so, why? Please let me know.

Regardless of whether it was intended, Basic Mediums are stronger than they should be because they have 4 Weight less than they should have, the main point of the original Steam forum discussion. For balance reasons, it should be increased to 10.0

I'll probably submit this as a bug later and link it here, so please be sure to voice your support for this

No idea, but basic medium airframes (1936 tech) have a big weight problem without Engines 3 (1940 tech). For example German He-111 with 2 bomb bays and 3 LMG turrets only has 1 extra weight left (which is weight of level 1 bomb sight, and nothing else).

I'm leaning towards a typo/oversight here and a bug report seems to be the best idea to get it checked.
