Basic savegame editing - C.O.R.E. 1950

I've just finished a great C.O.R.E. game with Poland. It went really odd and I was very lucky (early war, poor German performance, winter comming earlier and so on) so by 1948 my country became a regional power (GER annexed, some colonies in Asia and Southern America). My IC is around 600 and I no longer have any problems with the resources.

The international situation is funny as well: no Germany, Japan annexed, the only real threat is the Russkies. The Allies (no France) are more or less on par with them when it comes to a sheer number of divisions and the development). It seems a great time to start an East vs. West war and see what happens.

My question is: is there any way to edit my saved game and play past 1948?

There is the patch for an unlimited time that goes until 2200. I don't use it, so I don't know where it can be found.

The only thing i dont know is which .exe file to patch it with when using CORE

It should be HoI.exe, the core.exe file is just a splash-screen.

Does it work with old savegames or do I have to start a new game? And does it work well with C.O.R.E.?

I know what you mean by being frustrated. I played as Germany and had stretched from France, Ireland, England,through eastern europe through the balkans, into the middle east, through India, into Siam, annexed Netherlands, and Australia. Then Dec 30 1947 arrived.
