Significant problem with the Coral Sea, Southern Conquests and Operation Downfall (US invasion of Japan).

The islands start out with supplies and oil, so it seems to be working properly. But any new land you conquer gets only the initial supplies the navy brings (10 supplies or so). The convoys are never automatically set up. So if you as the US try to invade Japan, your troops will starve.

This is the same for Japan if Japan invades new Islands in Coral sea.

Possible Fixes
I tried enabling diplomacy in the scenario file, and I can't even get to the convoy screen because it crashes as soon as I click on the trade window.

This is with 1.4.

You will find your Allied troops running out of supply after they invade France in the D-Day Battle Scenario too.

There's a short thread in the Bugs forum.

The AI does run convoys, but . . .

Checking the Convoy stats in any of these scenarios will show a blank report for the player controlled country. I started a game of Downfall as Soviets, let it run thru 0000 hours of the first day, saved the file, opened as Allies and there was a list of destinations - Iwo Jima, Manila, Guam, etc. But no Allied convoys.

Restarted as the Soviets, let it run 2 days, and opened as the Allies. Voila, some convoys - 65 merchant ships and no escorts. But they weren't carrying anything. The AI had taken all the Allied air transports and was using them to resupply Guam from their capitol.

I'm assuming AI controlled country units stationed overseas would also run out of supplies.

Some slick way to fix this until it gets patched would be nice. (Please provide detailed instructios becuase some of us are newbies - pictures would help).

Over on the Bugs forum the following suggestion was posted:

Please start a 1936 campaign and see if autoconvoys are enabled there. If not enable all three options and save the game.

Now start a battle scenario, maybe convoys are active now. If this is working you may want to reload an older battlescenario savegame - may be working there as well.

Edit: Confirmed that this works when starting a new battlescenario, have not tried to restart a saved game.
