Ok 0.33 is up. Civ spread rate reduced to 1/7 of its former value, civ-giving event's MTTH doubled.

Note: A future version of the mod will include a Dacia (and other tribes) capable of spreading - at least a couple of provinces outward, which will severely hinder Macedonia's northward expansion.

Hi !
first of all great mod.
I especially like the new battlesystem, no more cat and mouse chases.
there is one thing though, with the event pop-ups like the oppotunity to change your nation, historical events and such. Sometimes when I hover the mouse over the choices there is no explanation to what the consequenses of each option is.
Hope I made some sense, this dreaded tounge is not my native :)

In some cases (especially the Real National Ideas events, which are the 'change your nation' ones) there are no immediate effects (from the event itself). For instance, when you hover over the national ideas, they'll have a list of prerequisites, say "have country flag = cavalry" and choosing the "cavalry path" for your nation, in the event, will allow you to choose that idea (or be at least one of the prereqs for choosing it).

In other cases, the events are very new, and are not yet finished - that is, they work , but they don't yet look as 'nice' as they could.

If you tell me the specific event, I can see what can be done about adding explanatory text.

Will you get them to expand by giving them higher starting civ? This would make sense for making them stronger but it would cause the trouble of the tribes advancing as fast as the Romans and soon building forums and road systems. I guess it has to be a balance of gameplay versus historical accuracy. I noticed that the three northernmost and in real life most primitive nations already have 45% civ  . Perhaps it would be better to give the tribal nations more provinces at the start and to give the tribes of Gaul cores on each other so that they might form larger nations. Dacia colonizing it's way up to poland would be little better than Macedon doing so.

Still working out how to implement this. I've given them a defensive bonus in 0.34 (Check my signature for the mod's new name & thread).
There are a couple different methods for making the tribes more interactive/aggressive/expansionist, and I'm working to find out which is better.
It'll take a few days though, exams are killing me right now. Should be a new version by Wednesday or Thursday (30th April or 1st May).

Perhaps tribal expansion could be implemented through events.

Regarding your request for national trait ideas: Maybe the greek nations should get a trait called greek philosophy that reduces omen chance but increases research. Greek nations currently have a much higher omen chance than other religions due to the high prestige of the Greek religion. A greek philosophy trait would even this out and at the same time be quite historical in representing the fact that philosophy had reduced the inflence of religion over large parts of the Greek elite. The research bonus would at the same time represent the inventiveness of the Greeks during this era.

Edit: So you want us to post in the Rome: Enhanced thread from now on?

The Greeks weren't inventive during this period. It was their stagnation in military innovation (same phalanx system, same hoplites, just with longer spears than their Persian Wars-era ancestors) that made them so vulnerable to the Romans. But I like the general idea, reducing omen chance to reflect philosophy, while giving something else - just not research.

If you wouldn't mind, please.
