Great session, guys! I was pretty sure when The Reich's fleets flew into my space I was screwed, especially when the mushrooms came, but somehow I made it. Sorry for my computer keep jumping off the internet, though. It seems to happen sometimes and the only solution seems to be a reboot.

Well it's obviously too late now and this issue probably was not on the radar of most people at the time because this seems to be an issue unique to Stellaris at the moment. I don't even know when I became aware of this mod. That said, this is all a learning experience for everyone. :)

We could also perhaps include some mods adding more emblems to the game simply so that we don't have to see the same ones over and over again. But that aside, the color mod may be a minimum from now on, along with some planning beforehand about who is what color, what emblem, and what portrait (though portraits don't really seem to be a problem this game).
 
How did the game go?
Quite a few people didn't show so we decided to end it.

In summary Stellaris is meh and not the type of game I was hoping for. I won't be creating another multiplayer campaign for it. So if there is interest you guys should discuss on who should be the next GM and options/mods you want to use.

I think it's fine it just needs work. It will be solid after 2-3 more content updates. Definitely need to do that player color thing, or make sure everyone announces their color, at the start of the game. Ethos need tweaking... I find xenophobe/xenophile super underwhelming. Slavery is great but it feels "meh" to go fanatic collect/xenophobe just to negate that 7% happiness to POPs. I'm liking the happiness build with fanatic spirit/pacifist but once you get to conquering the bonuses mostly apply just to your own POPs. Research institute was killer this version if you went materialist. I feel the higher happiness/adaptability traits are really good if you 100% build around that this version... with joyful you end up with the same bonuses as the species who have just science or resource gain as their traits by default, plus every other bonus.
 
Hmm, that's ok. I wasn't really enthusiastic about the game anyway. I was going pretty shit compared to others :p

I feel that compared to EU4, Stellaris is kind of crap. I'm willing to wager even HOI4 is better than Stellaris.

Mid to late game isn't exciting or engaging.
No map modes.
Chat isn't useful.
I got really tired of micromanaging structures.
Being stuck with the one travel type was hurting.
