After the unity logo the screen keeps black and the game never start

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
After the automatic download and install of 1.7 update on steam, i tried to start the game . Everything go as usual until unity logo fades. A white changing number appears on upper right corner of the screen and the game never starts, even though the mouse arrow change from windows standard to what is seen in the game.

Start the game and wait.

Attach DxDiag (PC), System Info log (Mac), or run sudo lshw -html > specs.html and uploaded specs.html (Linux)

Attach Output Log

If the game crashed, please attach the crash file with the time stamp closest to the crash.

Here is the requested information

DirectX version: 12.0
GPU processor: GeForce GTX 750
Driver version: 436.30
Direct3D API version: 12
Direct3D feature level: 11_0

As you have guessed the Direct3D feature level is 11_0.

The thing is the game was working perfectly a Week ago but with a diiferent NVidia driver. I Wonder if the driver update has caused some problems.

BT 1.7 was working? Or was that the previous BT version 1.6.x ?
 
I have always assumed that the 1.7 release was corresponding to the Urban Warfare DLC. Thanks to your question, I just realized it was released recently on the 10th of September which corresponds to the beginning of my problems with the game.

Probably the game was updated silently by steam without me noticing. I should have checked that first. The fact that a windows update happened around the same date led me to wrong conclusions.

I think it is safe to assume that the game was running fine with the latest 1.6.x and is now broken with 1.7. I will revert back to the latest 1.6.x after a clean uninstall and let you know if it works again. This will probably not happen before the weekend. Thank you for your involment.
 
I have installed 1.6.2 and everything is working fine. Except this modification, nothing else was changed on my computer.

The 1.7 release is definitely not working on my system configuration. I will wait for a fix to upgrade the game again.

Thank you for your help. Now back to a new career as all my saves are gone.
 
Any saves written by 1.7 will not be playable under 1.6.2 , it is true. Any unaffected that way should definitely still be there though ... ?!?
 
Yes except that performing a clean uninstall implies to delete the folder containing the saved games ;)

In my opinion, fixing all the issues related to uninstallation should become a high priority at HBS.

I am not complaining though. I have a lot of fun with the game.

I want to know if there is any news/hope to fix this issue. Its my favourite game...
I also need to know if there is more need for test in other PC. My wife want to uninstall the game there (as i´ve been bothering her work using it to play...)

The latest update I had was that we had issues replicating this in our lab. Basically the wizard in charge built a rig duplicating everything you have in terms of hardware and it worked just fine. This leads me to believe that there is something local causing issues. If you have any additional information you can think of please do share.
 
I just got done uninstalling everything. Including all files that are needed for a clean uninstall, including the regedit files. Still the same results. It will load fine with 1.6, but not 1.7. I have attempted to start the game just one time.

-Edit: All files successfully validated.

Updated Nvida driver to 436.30, same results.

I will play at 1.6, but I hate switching back and forth cause of my slow DSL, lol.

1.62 runs Unity "5.6.6f2" while 1.7 runs "2018.4.2f1" I've looked to see if there is a NVidia issue with 2018.4.2f1, but nothing came up.

That is the first report we've seen of any card other than the 750 having that error. And HBS were unable to duplicate the problem, even with the 750, so there is something else going on here.

Can we get your dxdiag too please?

I upgraded to the new NVidia drivers of 436.48, but the game still is blank with just the FPS. The driver did fix a Unity engine issue though for other games.
