With BATTLETECH moving forward and Mitch poised for share some Free Update 1.9 details with us this coming Thursday, I sure would like to hear an update on BATTLETECH Co-op.

I know it is unrealistic to hope for it with Free Update 1.9, but just to have it acknowledged as an Item of Work for the BATTLETECH Live Support Team would be a relief.

Because as I started to brainstorm the use I could make of Co-op here in the Command Academy, it quickly led to some very, VERY exciting prospects.

I’ve lost track of the number of times I’ve run gamers through this or that portion of the curriculum, but it is always predicated on a pyrrhic-interaction, “Here, this is how you do this... BANG! You’ve lost a Mech. See doesn’t it feel good to learn more about BATTLETECH by me showcasing Jump Cavalry Tactics against your Lance?”

It would change the WHOLE dynamic of I could be on the same team as the gamer I am conversing with on discord. The WHOLE dynamic. : )

It would be allow the new player to be a WINNER alongside me as I am showcasing tactics and answering questions.

Just a quick question, but uhhh...does HBS have an multiplayer network engineer again? Because if not, that seems like at least part of the hold-up on the co-op idea (plus reworking/creating new content for co-op).

I don’t see that new content would be needed, if Two-Player Co-op saw each player controlling two Mechs apiece. All current content should be wide open to Co-op use.

As to a Multiplayer Engineer, it is my understanding that HBS does not have a Multiplayer Engineer at this time.

In honor of BATTLETECH’s Completion being announced today, I will be running iterations of BATTLETECH Friday Night Fights from this coming Friday through to the first Friday after Free Update 1.9 is released into the Wild, here at the end of February.

BATTLETECH Command Academy is an integral portion of BATTLETECH Friday Night Fights. I love helping my fellow BATTLETECH gamers come to better understand and grasp the nuances of Multiplayer game-play. The various Academy curriculum let me engage with gamers looking to spin up their game. : )

So come on out this a Friday and as the incomparable Lord Commander is famous for bellowing, “MechWarriors, MOUNT UP!”

BATTLETECH Friday Night Fights is underway, come on out and join us!

All Academy offerings are available and in-play. : )

I and others are joined in a great pursuit to determine and expand the value of bloodydoves Clan Pack Beta formuse in Challonge Tournaments and Inner Sphere Wars League Play.

The growth of BATTLETECH Multiplayer has been laid in trust for any of us willing to help work toward a brighter, Bigger and Stompier Multiplayer Future. The Multiplayer Viability and minor tweaking (MechWarrior “Blanks” and whatever CWolfs can come up with] of bloodydoves Clan Mod Pack is one such step into the Future of BATTLETECH.

As we realize success, I will do so with an eye toward renewing and rejuninating this Academy as well, because after all - The rising tide, lifts all boats.

More to follow...

Thanks to the BATTLETECH action over at the BATTLETECH Scrimmage Club, I’ve can now add the latest tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP) slide to the Academy records.

Building upon the firm foundation of TTP already described in this thread and drawing screen captures from a match tonight with @Dr_Detroit, I’ve crafted the following slide:

Given that the Multiplayer fix is finding its way to those interested in BATTLETECH MP (myself for instance!) I will be reviewing the above Multiplayer tactics, techniques and procedures. Corrections and updates will be made as appropriate.

Additionally, ROGUETECH will be updated (save-breaking) at some point in NOV/DEC (pending any delays, of course.) In the past I’ve coordinated with CWolf over the possibility of modded MP. Indications are that this remains a bridge too far, at the moment. If this should change, I’ll bring it to our community here.

Have a great Big and Stompy day, and ever better tomorrows!
