So I tried a campaign, and it does the same thing too. FYI.

(Attached the save game associated with it. 20 minutes later, still spinning)

What antivirus app do you use?
UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "AI_Logs" is denied.
Add BattleTech.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

Really? That seems really odd!

I only have Windows Defender and I'll try that. <Controlled Folder Access is disabled>

Thanks.

Reran the game and still no opfor movement.

:-(

Do you still have that access error in the log now?

If so maybe try running BattleTech.exe as the Windows admin user.

Yes. It is still denied.

Yes. It is still denied.

Would it matter that I have both Steam and the Paradox Launcher on the same PC?

The steam version is so much smaller...

It shouldn't, they are entirely separate. Does this problem happen for both copies?

No. Only Paradox. The steam version is heavily modded and works just fine. The paradox version is virgin/unmodded and has never worked since my first install.

Erm, okay, not really sure what yo make of that!

I assume if you start the Steam installation up with no mods enabled, you still don't get this problem?

If that is so I think it's time to do a clean reinstall of the Paradox one (as there is no installation verification facility in our client as yet) - let me know here.

Yep, that did it! :)

Thanks.

(Wondering why now....)
