I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game 4 times. Have followed the instructions from this forum for a clean uninstall to no avail.
Have spent quite some time trying to find a fix for this issue on my own but there seems to be no crash quite like this one.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

No output log? If the game ran at all you should have one here:

{drive}\Users\YourUserName\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\output_log.txt

you may have to check "hidden items" on the file explorer /view/ tab to see the directory.

No crash in that file. If you delete it and try the game aain does it make another one like that?

Has the game ever run on this machine? Or never yet?

Add BattleTech.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

New file blow.
The game has never run on this machine.
I use AVG and it actually prompts me to allow programs through my firewall and I allowed it through it was also one of the first things I checked when I encountered the crash.
Just checked it again to make sure and it is allowed through.

Still no crash or error in that log.

Going back to the dxdiag though, several c0000409 crashes in BattleTech.exe, plus some other crashes in nVidia and Razer utilities. Are you having issues in any other game?

Some of those Razer drivers go back to 2016 so check for updates to those.

And run a Steam Verify operation against the game, see if that finds anything to fix.

I have had no other issues with any other games at all.

As for the razer driver's I am unsure as I keep the application I use to manage them up to date I will have to try and work out how to update them.

I have verified the game files several times with no errors being found, with the last verification having just been run.

Thank you for your assistance.

Ok, some more information on this problem.

I linked my steam account to the Paradox Launcher and redownloaded Battletech to the latest version which was still crashing even with the new launcher. I have been rolling back through the patches to see if I could find a version of the game that would run and I have. Version 1.6.2-552R1 seems to be working fine so far, the game starts and I have commenced the campaign with no more crashes thus far.

As to why versions beyond the one listed above will not run is a question for more informed mind that my own. Would be great if the problem could be sorted then I can enjoy all of the content that I have paid for.

Again thank you to those who have provided some input to my issue.

Ok, used the links to see what was broken in windows and there were some corrupted files that could not be automatically fixed so just bit the bullet and did a windows reinstall. Does appear to have fixed the problem as BattleTech now seems to be running.

Thank you again for your help
