Mission was crashing in my campaign. Wrote a ticket Jan 20, 2020. Was asked if the issue was limited to that file so started a career. It has also started crashing in the preparing for combat screen. I added these files to end of that thread but figured a new report would be a better way of going about things. No crash file exists in either location.
Have you tried verifying your files?
No

Steps to reproduce the issue
Take a mission.

Attach DxDiag (PC), System Info log (Mac), or run sudo lshw -html > specs.html and uploaded specs.html (Linux)

Attach Output Log
Windows: \Users\YourUserName\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\output_log.txt
Mac OS: Users >{name} > Library > Logs > Unity > Player.log
Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Harebrained Schemes/BATTLETECH/Player.log

If the game crashed, please attach the crash file with the time stamp closest to the crash.
Windows: [Steam library folder]\steamapps\common\BATTLETECH\DumpBox
For v.17 and beyond try here: C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH
OSX: Macintosh HD > Users > [username] > Library > Application Support > Steam > steamapps > common > BattleTech > DumpBox
Linux: [Steam library folder]/steamapps/common/BATTLETECH/DumpBox

If a save game was loaded at the start of the game session, upload it. Please make sure to upload the save game with the timestamp closest to when you loaded it.
Windows:
Steam: [Steam installation folder]\userdata[SteamID]\637090\remote\C0\SGS1
GOG: 'C:\Users\USER_ID\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications\50593543263669699\Storage\Shared\Files\C#\SGS#'

If I reboot I can play one mission. Then it crashes on the next one. Reboot, play one mission, crash, etc. The thing is, the crashes are getting more frequent the longer I get into the game so if this keeps up I will literally be unable to play at all. I could play for hours on end with 1.7 on Windows 7 but on Windows 10 with 1.9.1 the game is nearly unplayable.

This is exactly my situation. Worked fine Windows 7 1.7 and before. After updating to windows 10, worked fine until the 1.9 update.

I managed to fix it. Apparently there have been some really bad windows updates lately that mess with how memory is handled and causes a ton of issues. Some have even been removed from windows update entirely. I ended up having to reset my Windows 10 installation in order to fix it but at least now Battletech works again without crashing all the time.

What exactly did you do?
