One line summary of your issue
Game failed to autosave losing me 8 hours of data after lagging forced a restart

What platform are you running the game on?

Steam

What operating system do you use?
Windows 10
Which version of the game are you running?
1.9.1
What DLC do you have installed?
Flashpoint,
Urban Warfare,
Heavy Metal

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
The game appeared to be running fine for a while until it started to slow down and my mechs turned pink. when I went to save the game it was greyed out saying "can only be saved before a mech has taken its turn" and when trying to load a save it said it couldn't because it was saving. this was in the ship screen mind you. after the restart the save folder only had a manual save from 8 hours ago and no further saves losing me all that time as the game had failed to autosave since that mission it seems so if possible i'd like to know why this happened and if there's any way to retrieve those lost saves.
Have you tried verifying your files?
Yes

Steps to reproduce the issue

Attach DxDiag (PC), System Info log (Mac), or run sudo lshw -html > specs.html and uploaded specs.html (Linux)

Attach Output Log
Windows: \Users\YourUserName\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\output_log.txt
Mac OS: Users >{name} > Library > Logs > Unity > Player.log
Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Harebrained Schemes/BATTLETECH/Player.log

If the game crashed, please attach the crash file with the time stamp closest to the crash.
Windows: [Steam library folder]\steamapps\common\BATTLETECH\DumpBox
For v.17 and beyond try here: C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH
OSX: Macintosh HD > Users > [username] > Library > Application Support > Steam > steamapps > common > BattleTech > DumpBox
Linux: [Steam library folder]/steamapps/common/BATTLETECH/DumpBox

If a save game was loaded at the start of the game session, upload it. Please make sure to upload the save game with the timestamp closest to when you loaded it.
Windows:
Steam: [Steam installation folder]\userdata[SteamID]\637090\remote\C0\SGS1
GOG: 'C:\Users\USER_ID\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications\50593543263669699\Storage\Shared\Files\C#\SGS#'
Vanilla:'C:\Users\USER_ID\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BattleTech\C#\SGS#'

8gb of system memory is the game's minimum requirement - you'd need to exit every other app you can before starting the game each time. And I recommend increasing your Windows paging file to 32gb.

I mention this because being low or out of available memory is my first suspect for your issues, both the slow/pink thing and the failure to save. There's nothing of concern in that output log but I suspect that was not taken immediately after this problem, is that right?

That is correct yes. So it's a matter of memory not keeping up fair enough thankyou for the swift reply.
