I see no error or problem in that log at all. The gam eloads up just fine, and then exits as if you had asked it to.

Is it that you never see the fullScreen Unity, Paradox or HBS logos?

Has it ever run okay on this machine?

It's run very well for a long time now. Out of nowhere, it just doesn't "work". I literally can't see the game at all-all I see is the screen BEFORE the game launches. I can still hear music, just can't see the game itself.

Notice how the cursor has changed to the in-game style? This is what I'm seeing, the video I took isn't attaching properly, so here's a screenshot.

The latest patch 1.8.1 was released on Dec 11. If the game ran okay after that, then this happened, it's something external to the game. If so it hasn't left us any clues as to what that might be!

Please try a **clean** reinstall:

- Remove the game from Steam (uninstall)

- Manually delete all these files and folders, if still there:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BattleTech\

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\USER_ID\637090\
(first move the \remote\C#\SGS#\ folder elsewhere to keep your save games)

- Install the game again

- add steam.exe and BattleTech.exe to the Whitelist of your antivirus app, whatever it is

If you still get any problem, please send me a new dxdiag.txt and output_log.txt , thank you.

Did all that, removed those files and nothing, still the same @#$%^&* problem. Short of the stickied version of the clean install, I'm not sure what else to do. To the best of my knowledge, it was working fine BEFORE the latest update.

A weird one, for sure ....
ModLoader [LOG] Failed to load Newtonsoft.Json.dll at path C:\Users\Acer\Documents\My Games\BattleTech\mods\HBS\Newtonsoft.Json.dll, because it doesn't exist at that path.
Does that file in fact exist in that path?

Any mods involved here?

If you revert to 1.7.1 in the Steam betas tab for this game, does that work like it used to?

This is what's in that folder. I've reverted back to both 1.7 and 1.6 and still the same issue. I have used a c-bill mod before, but I would think it's gone since I deleted the folders you mentioned.

I should mention, I am also having problems with one other game: PC building simulator. Does the same crap as battleech. It also got recently updated too.

Is that game a Unity game also, do you know?

Try making a new Windows user and log into Windows as that - any different then? That uses a different Windows and Battletech profile, and also should avoid any leftover mod issues.

Yes, I believe PCBS is coded in Unity.

I've tried creating another administrative user on my PC, but, no dice. Just when I think I've reached a solution, bupkis.

I see ... how do you feel about doing a Windows Reset? A lot to ask to get games going, I know!

Six Months later, one soft reset, one hard reset, still doesn't work. I've so far deduced that it has something to do with Unity based games, but no one seems to know a thing about it (other than "it works fine for me! hurr durr.")

I am sorry, I really thought that reset would do it for you. Hard to imagine this could be a hardware issue, yet what else have we left?

Can I get a new dxdiag and output log please.

And please install and run the free utility Speccy. Send its output to a text file and attach that here, thanks.
