Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I hit start and it goes right back to the launcher. I even re-installed the game and nothing.
Have you tried verifying your files?

Steps to reproduce the issue
Hitting start on the launcher

Attach DxDiag (PC), System Info log (Mac), or run sudo lshw -html > specs.html and uploaded specs.html (Linux)

Attach Output Log
Windows: \Users\YourUserName\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\output_log.txt
Mac OS: Users >{name} > Library > Logs > Unity > Player.log
Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Harebrained Schemes/BATTLETECH/Player.log


If the game crashed, please attach the crash file with the time stamp closest to the crash.

That log is very short, gives us no clues, really.

Has the game ever worked on this machine?
Which version of the game are you running?
1.0.7103.23035
Is this right? Can you try 1.8.1 ?
 
I have about 65 hours on this pc though I did uninstall and reinstall. And as far as I know the game is up to date unless steam isn't updating it. The number was from the launcher in case I used the wrong one.
