If you want to make mechs harder to obtain just modify the number of parts needed. I just changed mine to 5 and OMG it makes a big difference (esp early game). It's now borderline impossible to get a really good mech from a single drop now.

I think difficulty in the early game is ok, late game with an only assault lance it's becoming a bit to easy.
If the game remains at limiting the player to one lance per drop, there need to be some variation in the missions requiring light and medium 'Mechs.
As it is now in lategame battles are not exactly variable.

It's....complicated.
The short story is, HBS are not going to put anything in that could potentially lead to a certain company's legal team knocking on their door. At least not until the other legal case is decided in the favour of the defendants (we hope, no guarantees).

Fair enough, though I will say now: After playing through the story a second time, a cool idea I'd like to see come into fruition would be the idea of multiple stories running in the game at once. Perhaps after assisting the Restoration, while playing freelancer for all the other factions, you could find yourself caught up in another war between two factions, eh?

ability to be a turncoat and switch sides; Stellar! not that I would choose to do so, but to give the actor the choice... Just Stellar!

Lots of playing field for expansions! I hope HBS continues to focus on game mechanics as they create more content! and AI improvement, multiple intelligence's, from dumb as a nail to as smart as they can make it, and different flavors of AI, Melee, ranged, flanking, etc...
 
3. Localization (French, German, Russian) and Linux support
These are both Kickstarter commitments and high priorities for our post-launch roadmap. (Along with a couple other Kickstarter commitments that didn't make it in for launch.) We don't have a more precise ETA yet for these items but will update you as soon as we do.

I dont know if it's a bug or what.

In many missions, both main campaign and free quests, my enemies just love to turned their Mech's legs to me so I can just shoot it easily.

Last night, five skulls quest, I destroyed 8 assault mechs by shooting of both its legs off..............

So weird and funny.
 
So with June starting soon, any new ETA when to expect or is it still just vague?

That is a good point! June, July, August, later in the year, at some point more Big and Stompy Awesomness will be coming our way!
 
Haven't read the whole thread yet, but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE (did I say PLEASE) add more mechs. Clearly you have an agreement with Piranha Games and/or Harmony Gold on the mechs and names. Would love to see the following:

Mercury, Thorn, Mongoose, Hermes, Hussar, Javelin, Wasp, Stinger, Assassin, OstScout, Valkyrie, Clint, Vulcan, Whitworth, Hatchetman, Phoenix Hawk, Dervish, Ostroc, Ostol, Rifleman, Crusader, Archer, Warhammer, Marauder, Charger, Cyclops, Sentinel, Wyvern,Crab, Champion, Lancelot, Bombardier, Exterminator, Guillotine, Flashman, Thug, Crockett.

I'd love to see some of the other variations of the mechs that are currently in game as well.. Such as the over variants of the Spider, Firestarter, Atlas, Jaeger, and Cataphract.

Adding more vehicles for the NPC missions would be cool..

There are some obstacles there:
First: Timeline. Mechs like the Crab are pretty much lostec at this point if i remember correctly. It will be seen again 3050 on tukayyid.

Second: Legal issues. Harmony Gold is just waiting for a reason to file a lawsuit about the Warhammer, marauder and Phoenix hawk, like they did with PGI.

Third: Availability of 3D models. HBS uses what PGI already got ready. Mechs like the Wyvern, Champion Ostscout and Lancelot are simply not processed and designed by PGI yet. Unfortunatly this one here applies for most Mechs of your list.


Edit:But i am absolutely with you on your wish for more missions, more vehicles and more variants!

Right now my mech bay is all assault mechs. Because there is no reason to ever have a light or medium mech once you have better mech. Introduce missions with preset drop weights! It would give us a reason to keep lights/mediums
 
Just completed my first play-through and had a blast! Great job HBS!

My only real complaint is what Manweofarda and others have said. I'd love to have a compelling reason to keep a handful of lights and mediums in my mechbays. There just isn't one right now.
 
Finishing the storyline and I'm still happy I bought it. It's definitely what you want from a Battletech game! I'll be purchasing whatever followup happens.

Strangely, the worst part of the game is the UI latency. That big delay after moving a mech to storage or clicking on 'Store' or 'Sell' is just long enough to wonder if the game is broken and try to alt-tab. (Or much worse when saving/loading/starting a mission) It's long enough to be worth having another monitor with something else to do, or keeping a book open while the game churns away. Even the repetitive "Your Turn" pause that you have to click through four times to Reserve your initiative 5 pilot down to coordinate something with the assault mechs adds up.
 
  • Tutorial-skip option - Allowing players who have already played the prologue missions to skip those missions when starting a new campaign, and get right to the Leopard.

Can we get this in a micro-patch? I'm playing through from the start again due to the save game bug. The tutorial and first mission is a real drag after playing the real part of the game.
