Becoming alliance leader : bug ?

Note : I'm still playing 1.07 (A floppy I used to transfer patch to home went corrupt :-( )

Here is what happened :

I was playing as England around 1499, still allied with Spain, Napoli and another country I forgot.
Alliance Leader: Spain.

Suddenly, I was attacked France and I promptly called on my allies to help me. Napoli answered my call, the other twos refused.

So now, only Napoli and myself remain in the alliance whereas Spain and that third country are no longer part of any alliance.

After some time, France offered me a peace (where I loose Kent :-( ) which I accepted and the war ended.

Now, I can't get anoby to leave or enter the alliance, nor am I able to dissolve it. But still, when I look at the geayed out button 'leave alliance' or so on diplo screen with Napoli, it says that I should perform this actrion with the leader of the alliance: England !

So, how the hell can I change who is member of this alliance and who is not ?

I would very much like to have this changed in a patch...
(As I stated in first paragraph : I'm still using 1.07)

Firstly, check if you are really the alliance leader (ie in the ledger, check if your the fist country listed for the alliance).

If you are you have to kick people out of the alliance for them to leave. To be able to do this however you need a really good reason (CB against that country).

You should be able to invite other countries to the alliance though, if you're the leader. They may of course not be members in another alliance.

Anyway, if you and all your allies stay at peace for 10+ years the alliance should dissolve by itself.
