Hey,
as I'm awaiting my new rig I kinda wondered what CPU's can play PI games ( CK II, EU IV and maybe HoI IV in the feature ) at max speed ?
I bought an i7-4770K I'm pretty sure that's more than enough, but I wondered what's the cheapest CPU that could play them at max speed. I don't really think the graphics card can bottleneck PI games neither do I know if 8 or 16 GB makes a difference in PI games so would anyone like to answer these as well ?

Thanks in advance to whoever answers these questions.

I bought i7-4770K + 16Gb RAM too:D and can't help you. Only I shoud say - it's great choise!
P.S. My previous computer was Celeron D 2.8Ghz with 1Gb RAM and it was able to run properly only 2D games of PI.

Well to be fair I'll use my computer primarily for rendering and maths, but I just wondered how long does a year take at max speed and is an 4770k sufficient or not ?

As far as I am aware there is no "Max speed" Speed 5 will use as many resources as you throw at it, so while speed 1-4 is the same (assuming you aren't lagging) but 5 will speed up depending on your specs.

Really?`

Mhhhm so what speeds can I expect with a 4770k ?

And what is the fastest being measured so far ?

No measures, but it is great with i5 first 200 years. Then it starts to slow down.
