Best Mod out there?

Have not played since the original but thought I would get back into it
Just (at present) just have the main game. Which mod would you recommend? More into the expansion side of things rather than the political items. Do you recommend the add-on?

Haven't played any mods either and I wouldn't mind getting some feedback as well. Granted there don't seem to be too many available.

Lofmod is the best I've tried so far.

Magna Terra, Epigoni, Reign of the Ancients, Lofmod and other (and older) larger mods all are very good.

It just depends on what kind of changes you are looking for, also the Europa Imperialis mod that is in progress is looking very very promising so checking it out is a good idea as well.
