If so, then where in the sam hill is my invitation? ;)

Well, that's correct. Most of the mods added to the various game fora here from EU2 and later were already betatesters. Many of them became betatesters through doing a good impression in the forums too though :)

Isn't that a bit of chicken-and-egg problem then? :D

The first non-staff mod was Sapura, and he was in the EU1 beta before. :) Btw the next couple of (non-staff) mods did actually not even apply for the job ... one fine day, Oranje (friend long gone :() and me turned on our computers and found that we suddenly had fancy titles and could do things in the EU1 FAQ Forum. :)
And it still took a loooong time from there until the admins were eventually installed.

No, of course I didn`t forget Greven, but I think he was always on the Paradox team, no? :)

Hartmann

No.. he was hired during the summer of 2000 to write the Eu1 manual.

In summer 2000 I was only one of those occasional lurkers ... so for me he was "always" on your team. :)

Btw the precise moment when I got hooked on to EU was when I had read Greven`s "Papal States AAR".

for me it was Sapuras (IIRC) Sweden AAR.

For me it was Hartmann spamming the Home of the Underdogs boards, then suddenly disappearing... :p

For me, I would have to say it was Sapura's Russia AAR - it was, if I remember correctly, the first EU1 AAR by a beta-tester, & it had me hooked right from the start!

a nice thing about HoTU is that you can vote more than one time for a game! EU2 received a score of 10 by me more than one time ;) :p
