hi fernando. idk if you will read this, but hey, whatever man. its personal experience here that's talking not hate towards the mod, which is great just as it is.
i started a WIF campaign as the ussr. at first i went to remove all of my dissent which i achieved by around june. changed all my ministers to manpower, and began to push for standing army, because i knew that there were some events that gave me more hawk slider moves for free.
at first my production got focused to factories, at least until 1940. some Dissent events and IC issues later and finally i begun huge productions of infantry, with some Ski infantry '42 and Mountaineer '41, which i had tech rushed. my infantry was also teched to '41, and i had sold my air force to begin a big program of building fighters by 1939.
all in all, the events worked. finland was beaten in a 2 month strugglem the baltic states were annexed, war and subsequent annexation of poland, pretty normal stuff. by the time of war at june '41 i have about 210 divisions in my border with the germans, and 18 divisions in the north facing the Finns.
at first i expected a massive blitz by the Germans, but all they had achieved the first month of invasion was some small advances in Stryj and the south, and i quickly counterattacked with over 50 divisions from 4 provinces and pushed back the attempted breakthrough. in the center finally the germans began to advance, suffering heavy losses to org., while i suffered lots of losses myself.
long story short, by december of '41 i had established a defensive line between Riga, Smolensk, the marshes of central russia, Kiev, and odessa. in other words, i was extremely disappointed. i expected to get the shit kicked out of me the first few months of the war, but instead i had slowed the german "blitzkrieg" completely. all the offensives they tried became gruesome attritional warfares, where i completely overwhelmed the germans. sure, their panzer divisions were rock hard to tackle, but they were too few on their own to properly push me back. come '42, all my dissent is gone already (lol) and the germans make a landing north of riga, and after some battles i managed to pull back all my armies between riga and the marshes south of Leningrad, establishing a new line of defense, while in the south the enemy was unable to make a breakthrough, or rather, when they did achieve one, my armies would attack from all directions, and break them. in the far north, taking advantage of summer and new divisions, now totalling 60 or more, i went on the offensive against the finns and annexed them by august. 60 more divisions came south just in time to save 20 of my divisions which got trapped in a pocket on Riga, but it was really too little too late to save the germans, who had begun barbarossa with an estimated 170 divisions total in their army, and now were up to 195, while i had 260 divisions total, with only 30 watching the japanese borders.
so winter came and i tried several offensives in the south, central and northern front, but all of them failed. i mustered even more divisions thanks to my great 3.20 daily manpower income, and got that freaky event that said not one step backwards! -10 dissent which didnt exist. as soon as may came the germans tried one last massive offensive in the north, and managed to capture Minsk not through fighting, but through launching huge offensives in the whole front (honestly, it was my mistake when i sent all divisions to defend nearby provinces instead of leaving some there), and managed to establish a very brief foothold on the eastern part of the river. what had happened was that i had mustered over 130 divisions, including all my armored and motorized forces including my motorized '40 cavalry, and did a full encirclement of the northern divisions in the Riga Pocket as i called it, with well over 40 ish german divisions trapped there, and at least 6 of them were armored. being winter and receiving supplies by sea i sent my subs and fleet to convoy raid, but in total they destroyed 5 convoys and 3 escorts, and lost half the total fleet when the german surface fleet came to fight.
after a long and uneventful winter in which the germans made no real effort to relieve the forces north, finally came spring, and by may i began to destory the germans in the pocket with over 100 divisions. by june the germans were dead. it was '43 now and initiative was back on my command. i began a series of encirclements in the north where my armies were strongest, while the center and southern fronts held firm against furious german attacks. i had stopped retreating. now it was a matter of encircling german forces in the north. by august i had destroyed an approximate 40 german divisions between Koenigsberg and Berlin, which also fell under siege. the germans now had no garrisons guarding their land, and had their nearly entire force of troops in the south.
by the end of october '43 i finally attacked Berlin to trigger the surrender event after i had annexed Hungary and Belarus (romania was puppeted to my displeasure, since i wanted their oil depots), and had over 100 divisions waiting to invade Italy.
bla bla bla, japan was on a peace treaty, and finally i annexed germany, 2 years too soon, and with no divisions lost.
all i wanted to say was that, properly managed and led, the germans stand no chance against the russians.
