Hi!

I just started a c.o.r.e. game as GB. It was my first core game and I spent about an hour browsing all the new techs and stuff. When I then started the game I see several wardecs...like greece and dominican republic attacking switzerland and guanxi clique attacking egypt. Erm...is that normal in a core game? I then proceeded to take a look on the egyptian government but all I got to look at was a ctd. I have the right version of DD. What went wrong here?

*EDIT*
Found a post from a later date who had the same problem. It appears the strange wardecs and the CTD is happening because of belligerence levels? Does this only happen in the beginning of the game or could it come at any time during a game?

You're right, it is our #1 known issue. January 2nd, 1936 is one of the peak dates it can occur, though it does occur at other dates as well. The trouble is that it isn't really reproducible, and quite rare to actually happen, but it will be given quite some scrutiny in 0.30. Current consensus is it's both beligerence and spying related.
The easiest fix is save frequently, and reload should it happen. So set your autosave to monthly, and save your initial game after doing all your basic stuff like adjusting production, sliders and so-on. Probably once you do that it actually won't happen at all...

Will do and I wish you all of luck with your work on c.o.r.e.! I came from vanilla DD and it'll take some time for me to get used to core but it looks VERY interesting.

Just wait for what we have in store for 0.30... ;)

I've playing CORE for a few games now and it never did that odd wardecing problem so it must be very rare. The only problem is an occasional crash but I got auto 3 month save on plus i manual save after big fights and events occur so its not a biggy.

The best thing about CORE are the new countries and tech charts. I like UK so I have some new friends like Egypt, India and Malaya to help hold back the IJA and watch my back. Japan still took out India and malaya last game but that's cause i was low on transports so I couldn't get enough troops in to help them. I modded the build priorities and difficulty to make the Ai stronger and build more navy and armor/mechs. So i think Core is already the best mod but I haven't tried Stony Road yet so I don't now well.

It wouldn't be a Paradox game if it didn't crash once in a while. :D

Glad you like CORE, and I reckon you'll like 0.30 even better when it comes out!
As to HSR: it's pretty much a beefed up Vanilla game (techwise and such), created to have a challenging game playing Germany. So it's pretty much focused on Germany and the history of German units than anything else. I tried it a couple of times in my pre-dev days, but for me it just didn't work. I'd rather stick to CORE instead, personally. :)

I'm gonna stick to CORE too. My friend was all hyped up and talked me into loading up DAIM once so I did but only let it run for about 5 minutes before deleting it because it looked just like the dull vanilla version again.
