Re: Skpping Music and Black Screen

Andrew:

Good morning from Canada!!!

Andrew, I've FINALLY GOT IT RUNNING, but I have no sound. Is there any way we can put back the settings so we can get the sound back and avoid the skipping music problem at the same time? I would also not like to see my start bar whilst I'm playing the game. Usually, when a game comes up, the screen goes totally black and everything disappears.

Any way we can do that?

In closing, I thank you ever so kindly for all your help, and it looks like a great game!!!

Live long and prosper, take care and thank you kindly!!!

Sincerely yours always,

Indy.

As far as Speedfan goes, you should just have to install it and then run it. The temperatures it detects should be right there on its main page. Anything over about 40 degrees Celcius (~106 deg Fahrenheit) is a potential problem.

Also, can you try one more change in settings.txt:
multisampling=0

Thanks.

Dear Andrew:

I've got the game up and running at long last. Now, there's no sound. Is there a way to keep the multisampling at 0, and put the other settings back so I can get sound?

I guess it was the multisampling change that did it?

Simply edit settings.txt again and change master_volume from -1 to, say, 50 or 100 (it's a percentage). Let us know if the music skips again, although I don't know what to do if it is ...
