I just got a new PC with Windows 10 as 8 don't exist no more :( I reinstalled all my games and so on, so I can continue my mad marches to domination! Except whenever I launch CK2 I get a black screen and only the cursor loads. I can hear the music and everything but the game itself won't launch. As soon as I press play on the launcher the status is changed to unresponsive, see attached images, and then I have to close it. This are the only game that I'm having a problem with. Would love to fix this, as this are my favorite game that I play when I can as my work life don't often give me that kind of opportunity.

So EU4, HOI4 and Stellaris all work okay for you, is that right?

What antivirus app do you use? Add ck2game.exe to its exceptions list/whitelist.

IF that doesn't help, DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

Stellaris and CK2 were also affected. I don't know what happened but I shut down my computer over the night, installed EU4 and now it all works. Might have been one of them but who knows. Thanks for the help still though! This ticket can now be closed.
