Black Screen of Death

I recently got the game, installed it, steam updates did its thing downloading all the latest patches etc.

While playing the game I suddenly get a black screen. This happens in the campaign screen and normal battles.

No noticeable pattern or timing but after a while screen just goes black and can do anything. Can still hear audio.

This is the only game that this happens with.

I tried changing from DX 11 to running the game in DX 10, 9 etc didn't make a difference. Im having the same issue as reported on steam forums: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2524249&highlight=black%20screen

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580

Can anyone please let me know if there is anything i can do because cant really enjoy the game when it keeps dying on me.
