Black space instead of flags

I have just installed Rome: Gold and on the country select screen all maps are black squares, and once playing the game all flags on the interface or messages are black squares as well, however the banners in game are non-existent. I had this problem as well with EU3 HTTT and i believe deleting the catch file in the flag folder fixed the problem, however i can find no such problem here. Any help would be appreciated

Have you applie dthe current patch 2.32c ? What version and checksum do you see? They ought to appear on the main game menu, but some folks can only see them when going to host an MP game.

One thing you could try is right-clicking on the game's desktop icon and select to run as admin and to disable desktop composition (this is assuming you are not on Windows XP).

I have applied the patch, and it says Rome v 2.32c (SMCL) if that helps

Oh never mind, i fixed it by playing around with the window setting for awhile, thank you so much for the help!
