Hey guys,

Not sure what Im doing wrong...every time I launch the game I can't select a character as there are none! I see that there is bugged compatibility with the latest version but it should still work, right?

If anyone else has had this problem, would appreciate a fix.

Thanks dudes/dudettes!

Did you grab the latest version? See "Unofficial Release" thread.

Did you extract it and install it in the right place? My Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod/

Did you make sure no other mods were checked in the launcher? There are some small mods that will work OK, but most big mods won't. Best to start with no other mods, and experiment to see which will work. I guarantee that most HIP sub-mods, and CK2+ won't work.

Did you delete all previous versions before installation, or make sure that the new version was installed in a separate folder?

I have got the latest version, installed it like all other mods, are playing the game with only Lux Invicta and this is the first time I have tried playing it. Yet my map is still blank and black and there are no characters to play as. I have tried playing the game with 2.0.4 and 2.2.0 and 2.1.6.

Did you follow the Important Installation Instructions in the first post of the main thread?
Due to the sheer memory mass of Lux Invicta, enough virtual memory must be freed up for the CK2 game engine, especially (but NOT ONLY) with a 32-bit OS. Please do the following at least once:

Vista/7/8
> Run command prompt as administrator
> Type: bcdedit /set increaseuserva 3072*
> Verify by typing bcdedit, and find the entry above.
> Reboot

XP
> Find boot.ini (usually on C:, might be hidden), mark it not read-only, and open
> Under the section called [operating systems] find the line that says "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Wind ows XP Professional...". Duplicate that entire line below.
> Add a space at the end and /3GB /USERVA=3072*
> Rename the OS name of that entry to identify it at startup
> Save boot.ini, then r-click and make it read only.
> Reboot

*any value above 2048 really (at least 2560), but restrict it to 3072 if you only have 4GB in your system.

Well, since you're short on memory, make sure you have no other applications running. If you've already done that... I'm out of suggestions.

Thanks for all the help, I somehow got it to work. When I originally installed the mod instead of extracting it I just copied the folders from the zip file, since usually with other games it has the same effect. The second time I tried to install it, I installed it by
extracting it directly from the zip file to the mod file like normal. This time it worked. I think what happened in the first time I installed it is the files somehow got corrupted while they were being copied.
