There's a blank space in the IP address box when entering the Internet Multiplayer Menu. It can be checked when entering this menu, that the "Join" button appears lighted on as there's an address already inside that box. The problem rely on when an user inserts the IP address, the "blank space" stays at the end of the address and it causes the EU2 to hang and a further force close of the program is needed. But when you clic inside the box and press Delete, so the "empty space" disappears and the conection can be done correctly. :)

I'm sorry, I don't understand what exactly it is that happens (sorry, TG, but I can't figure it out from what you are saying). I haven't had any trouble with connecting via IP, either to an address already defaulted into the box, or through typing in a new address to replace the defaulted address.

well DS, the thing is that I don't exactly if this happens to everyone's version, but there's a blank space inside that box that when you enter the address in stick behind that address.... the previous time when Valkynet was down too, I strongly believe that this is what forbidded me to enter to host's game... and I tested out this wednesday when Eli was hosting that I enter the address without deleting the blank space and the game hanged, but after restarting it, I deleted it he blank and enter the address and I was finally in......... and yes, I've played via IP before without problem, so I don't know if this a bug in this patch or what, cause I don't remember if in previous patches that blank space existed....

I still can't figure out what you are saying either. I'll move you over to the MP forum where they do this stuff all the time, if there is a confirmed bug then post back here again pls.

Note that the Paradox servers have been down many times over the last few weeks due to upgrades happening.

Well, basically, the default what appears in the box where you write IP to is: " " instead of "" (without quotes obviously), so when you write IP there you get "255.255.255.255 " instead of "255.255.255.255" (again without quotes). When you have the space at the end, it will hang up the game when you try to join. You can easily fix this by pressing delete once after you've written the IP, but it's still annoying.

Byakhiam explains it pretty well. Whenever the IP resets, appearing blank, it places a space directly after where the cursor shows on a seemingly empty IP field. In order to get rid of that space, you simply move the cursor over to the right one space using the right arrow key. It is still annoying, but I would guess once knowledge of this gets around it'll be pretty easy for everyone to avoid.

I've tried it to reproduce it as well, and it happens in my game too with the latest beta.

So I think I will move this one back to the bugs forum.

*moved*

(let the move wars begin...:D)

well, two mods against one! :p.... lol... no, really, I think there should be a warning or something like that for the rest of EU2 MP players... I have posted it also in the Spanish Forum in order to get them to know and to be aware of this.. specially since in these last few days, Valkynet have had some problems..

and, hopefully Johan  will kill this bug later... :)

I've posted it backstage but no response so far, sorry.
