I have been playing the 1936 scenario as Germans. Got to Jan 1944 and have since been experiencing a brief intermitant "blinking" of the screen. This problem is also affecting all of the other scenario's of DD.

I am using the most up to date version of the game.

No other programs on my PC are affected in this manner.

I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. No change.

Has anyone had any similar problems or any thoughts on what is going on ?

The blinking is most likely because an other program is interfering. Most likely it's musicmatch. Check your task manager and see if mm.exe is running. If it's running disable it.

If this is not working try Castellon standard advice

1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Run a Virus check and a Adware/Spybot checker
6) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-4.

 Thanks. You have saved my sanity.

So I assume that once again music match was the culprit. ;)

I have the same problem. I dont have music match running...

Edit:
The problem was Ati grafics controlcenter. Removed it and problems gone :)

Heh. Basically, any program that forcibly abd periodically grabs the focus can cause this effect. Music Match is just a well known example. ;)

Just updated to the new version of AVG anti virus and that was the culprit.
Had no problems with the older version hence my confusion when I suddenly started getting blinking. Just turned it off in Task Manager no problem now.
