I was attacking Lille France and wanted to Blitz across the river into the 2 Provinces behind it (Roun and Amiens). I thought if I'd use the Blitz option they would imediatly move across the river into the 2 Provinces soon as Lille was captured, with out my having to come back and make the move. To my surprise all 4 Generals capable of doing this had about 2 weeks worth of time added to thier move. It appears it would have been better for me to use just the Move command and keep coming back to check on thier progress. This being the case what good is this function if it causes a loss of time? They all attacked on time together as planned.

Perhaps the blitz was unsuccesful. If a blitz is succesful the tanks should keep moving even before the battle is won. Although my units are always out of oil when I do this, I don't know why. Perhaps this is why it took 2 weeks longer?

As allready said, this is a bug in 1.06c. Regardless of the circumstances it is always faster not to use blitzorder. The only two possible uses of blitz, as it is, would be for convenience (you don't have to return to those panzers and give them new moveorders immediately) OR if the battle in the first province is going to drag out for very long.

Yes, that is one possible use of the blitz order. It's not that usefull though, because if you lose the battle in the first province it usually means your advancing panzers are cut off.

But the way is was supposed to work - in a near-historical way - was that apnzers were to make the first breakthrough and then move through the breech onto the next province without stopping. Then the main body finishes off the enemy in the first province.

These tactics was what brought about some astonishing rapid advances in France and Soviet Union.

For the same method to work in the game, the panzers should reach province 2 faster than those forces that do the mopping up in the first province, right? Or else, what is the use of blitzing?

Unfortunately this is the part that isn't working. If you win in the first province, the panzers on blitzorder will be outrun by the footsoldiers.

Oh, I see. I guess it depends on how fast you will win the battle in the first province. If it is a very close large battle requiring multiple rotations of units Blitzing could be a very great advantage, creating another distraction for the enemy.

I already wondered whether I was doing something wrong. Since 1.06c is the last official patch (somehow I'm not surprised this glaring bug didn't got resolved), are there any unofficial patches or hotfixes for this bug?

BM is correct ,unfortunately it is a exe issue and we cannot fix it and although i have pleaded, campaigned, threatened, attempted to bribe and coerced uprisings demanding new official Hoi1 patch it seems it will never happen.

But i have not tried blackmail, extortion or kidnapping yet ,so feel free to try them ;)

I've just started a new game with Germany (who else?) on normal with Super AI. Would the Super AI fix this bug?
No unfortunately not, super AI is only a mod and the Blitz issue is an .exe problem that could only be fixed by Paradox.

Always mod Super AI to a separate clean install of Hoi1 on your PC as it can effect/ruin any other mods you may have on your install.(Causing Mainly GFX issues) .

For example have CORE on one Hoi1 install and Super AI on another.

And don't forget TGW on a third one, Doc. At least that's how I have HOI1 on my computer.
Ah yes indeed ,how could i forget and that's exactly how i have it set up also:D
