I've been using this strategy almost exclusively for the original campaign and I find it to be incredibly effective. You can pretty much destroy any army with only 3 hero led units. However, you should have a full stack of units just to keep morale high.

You need:
1 warlord (I use Sir Kay but i think any of them are fine)
2 champions (I recommend King Mark, Sir Alymere, Sir Bors, or Sir Lancelot)
3 Summer born units (for the path walker passive)
All heroes must have Sidhe roads (level 1 is good enough)

Warlord
Essential Skills
Masterful tactics 4
Wall of Steel 4
Protection from Magic 4

Work towards
Wedge of Steel 4
Masterful Strategies 4

- Try to get artifacts reduce reduce cool downs and boost masterful strategies. Artifacts that give you levels in armor of faith are also pretty great since warlords don't have access to this skill. Try to get cleave or dragon strike items if you can but make sure champions have priority over these items.

Champions
Essential Skills
The entire Cleave tree level 4 OR rank 4 Dragon's strike (I think cleave is more effective but Dragon's strike is a close second)

Work Towards
Armor of Faith 4
Rage 4
Enchanted Equipment 4
Guardian Angel 4
Hold 4 (Alymere and Bors both have this)

-Get artifacts that boost cleave, dragon strike, fight, and let you attack additional opponents. Sir Marricks set and the sword of pendragon are good choices.

For your stats pump fight to max then go for magic.

Notes
-If you want more units on the field get another champion with Summer born and the unique Knights of Guinevere unit. This way you have 5 different units you can warp in but I haven't really found that necessary.

-For the Summer Born get open field fighter and focused hits as your perks.

-Before a battle look any heroes that have either cleave or dragon strike. You need to take them out first because they are the only major threat to you. You don't really need to worry about sages because they won't be able to hurt you with any of their magic spells due to your high magic resistance and proximity to their units. Archers also won't shoot you since you'll be fighting their melee units. If they don't have melee heroes than target sages or archers. You just need 1 hero per target so have three different ones.

- Ignore victory Locations you don't really need them. When the battle starts you have 2 choices. You can teleport right on top of your targets or you can wait for them to split of towards victory locations. It depends on what your facing and how powerful your armies are. Towards the later game I find myself just teleporting in straight away especially with seelie/unseelie units since I find this strategy to be especially effective against them.

-When you teleport make sure you champions are close enough to your warlord to be covered by his spells. Activate masterful tactics before you teleport in or right after. As soon as it wears off activate protection from magic if there are stiff heroes around. When your champions teleport in activate cleave/dragon strike and guardian angel right away.

-If there are still targets that can threaten you on the field after you have defeated your primary targets, such as archers, then just teleport on top of them.

The more you use this strategy the more powerful your heroes get since they will have get all the xp. You will max fight and magic in no time then literally nothing can stand against you.
