[Blocker] Game crashes right after logos

After starting the game, I see the logos, then it asks me to hit (A) or space - after I hit space it either crashes or spins eternally, while showing a building animation and a horizontal bar, but no buttons or anything else.

OS: Windows 8.1
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670k cpu @ 3.40ghz
Graphics Card: ASUS R9 280X Series

Please start by trying to update your graphic drivers. Also try verifying the game cache through Steam (right click -> properties -> local files) and restart your Steam client completely.
